After a promising 3-0 SU start to the season, the Seattle Seahawks have dropped three straight games and find themselves back at the .500 mark on the season. While the offense has played relatively well, the Seahawks defense has been among the major concerns as they have given up an average of 35 points in each of the last three losses. To make matters worse, the Seahawks will have another tough match-up this Sunday when they go on the road to meet an Atlanta Falcons team that appears to be starting to fire on all cylinders on the offensive side of the football.
While the Seahawks have been trending in the wrong direction, the Falcons have found momentum and are on the heels of 3 straight victories going into the Week 7 match-up against Seattle. Atlanta picked up three straight division victories against the Saints, Buccaneers, and Panthers and improved to 1st place in the NFC South. Of course, many would argue that the NFC South is among the weakest divisions in football; I would argue that the Falcons are playing well on both sides of the football and appear to be developing into the team that many expected going into the beginning of the season. On Sunday, the Falcons will have a chance to solidify their momentum when they host the Seahawks as slight 3-point favorites at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons Betting Analysis
On paper, this match-up has fireworks potential, which justifies the 50.5-point betting total completely. Seattle’s offense has moved the football well with QB Geno Smith, WR D.K. Metcalf, and a talented receiving corps. RB Kenneth Walker missed a few weeks with an oblique injury but appears to be fully healthy, providing the offense with home run potential. From a match-up perspective, I don’t see any huge obstacles preventing Seattle’s offense from another efficient performance, but perhaps the key for Seattle will be getting Kenneth Walker going in the run game against an Atlanta defense that has allowed more than 140 yards per game on the ground. If the Seahawks can control the ground game, they can control the flow of the game and possibly avoid playing from behind, which has been a theme over the last several weeks.
On the other side of the ball, Falcons’ fans have to like what they have been seeing in recent weeks. QB Kirk Cousins is playing well, WR Drake London appears to be developing into an alpha WR1, and running backs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier have produced solid efficiency in the ground attack. In last week’s 38-20 win over the Panthers, TE Kyle Pitts even got going with 70 receiving yards, which would be a huge boost if Pitts moving forward, could be a reliable option in the passing game. With that said the most realistic pathway to a Falcons victory will be controlling the ground game, which is the same path I listed above for Seattle. Atlanta has been a run-first offense on the ground, and the Seahawks have also struggled to stop the run, allowing 144 yards per game. This Atlanta offense plays its best when they are running the football effectively, and that will be the key again this Sunday!

Seattle Seahawks vs. Atlanta Falcons Betting Prediction
This is one of those games where you have two teams trending in opposite directions, with the home team trending in the right direction. I think the Falcons are starting to hit their groove, and they present a very tough match-up for Seattle with every possession of the football. The Seahawks have made too many mistakes in recent weeks and have been inefficient far too often. Give me the Falcons to get the job done!
