The San Francisco 49ers will look to win their fourth
staright game when they travel to Tampa Bay in this Week 15 tilt. San Francisco
defeated division rival Seattle 19-17 as 2.5-point home chalk last Sunday.
They outgained the Seahawks by 54 yards and will be looking to win the stats
in four straight. Overall, the 49ers are just 5-7 ITS (in the stats) this
season after going 13-3 ITS last year. It’s been the defense that has stepped
up in the three game winning streak. The 49ers have allowed just 36 points
in their last three games while the offense has exploded for 69 points.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 4-1 SU and 4-1 ATS in their last
five games. Last Sunday, the Bucs took care of Buffalo 27-6 as 3-point home
chalk. They outgained the Bills by 32 yards and are only 3-10 ITS this season.
If you faded the team that played the Seattle Seahawks in their last game this season, you would have gone 9-4 ATS. I don’t think this is one those times. San Francisco seems to be on a mission right now and they will bring in the better offense, defense, special teams, and head coach. The hard part of the 49ers schedule is out of the way with the Falcons and Cardinals left after this game. That last game might decide a wild-card spot, so the 49ers can’t afford any letdowns. Their is a lot of motivation for this team to finish with a 12-4 SU record. Anytime an East Coast team hosts a West Coast team, the home squad certainly has a chance to win or stay close. It doesn’t matter that Tampa Bay has only four wins, what matters is those victories have come in the Bucs’ last five games as previosuly mentioned.

I love the fact that San Francisco is 13-4 SU in their last 17 games against Tampa Bay. Some teams just don’t matchup well with each other and it looks like this is one of those games. The Bucs are clearly playing its best football of the season, but they have struggled mightly against the more physical teams like Carolina and Seattle. Tampa Bay was outgained by 285 yards combined in their two most recent losses against Carolina and Seattle. Mike Glennon has completed 60.6% of his passes with 15 touchdowns and seven interceptions. The Bucs offensive line has allowed 34 sacks this season so the 49ers defense should be able to put pressure on Glennon. I see at least 3 sacks in this game for the road team.
The Bucs are 2-9 SU and 2-9 ATS in the month of December over the lst three seasons. The Bucs are 1-4 SU and 1-4 ATS as underdogs of 3.5 to 9.5 points this season. The 49ers are 17-5 SU and 16-6 ATS as favorites of 3.5 to 9.5 points over the last three seasons. The 49ers are 4-2 SU and 5-1 ATS against the NFC South over the last three seasons. San Francisco is 26-7 SU and 23-10 ATS when playing on a grass field over the last three seasons
Jeff’s Pick to Cover the Point Spread: San Francisco 49ers -5
I am aware of the long travel and teams that played Seattle usually suck the very next week. Make this a light play.
