Favre Watch: Instead of reporting whether Favre WILL or WON’T play this season, we’re going to side-step the drama as nobody really knows until the regular season stars. Our guess is yes, he will be back for the 2010/2011 season.

Injuried Bronco: Denver RB Knowshon Moreno will miss the next 3 weeks with a “partially frayed hamstring”. For those of us who hae experienced the all-mighty crippling hammy injury, it’s tough to believe that he won’t be down for longer but the team says he’ll be ready for week 1. – 8/1

Wednesday Notes: The SD Chargers have extended the contract of TE Antonio Gates. The Oakland Raiders have named QB Jason Campbell as their starter. – 7/28

Rest in Peace: Jack “The Assassin” Tatum has died of a heart attack at age 61. Tatum was a hard nosed free safety who administered bone crushing shots to opposing offenses. Dolphins D Taking a Beating: Starting DE Phillip Merling will miss the 2010 season after tearing his Achilles” tendon (ouch!). This is the 2nd blow to the Phins defense after NT Jason Ferguson went down last week. Rookie Jared Odrick will now be called upon to likely become a first teamer. – 7/23
