It’s hard to imagine that earlier this season there were Philadelphia fans that were calling for the firing of Head Coach Nick Sirianni. However, since the shaky 2-2 SU start, the Eagles have won 8 straight games and are coming off their biggest win of the season in last week’s 24-19 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. At 10-2 SU, the Eagles are currently tied for the 2nd best record in the NFL and have a legitimate chance to secure home-field advantage in the playoffs when you consider their remaining schedule. On Sunday, the Eagles will attempt to keep their momentum alive when they host the Carolina Panthers as large betting favorites at Lincoln Financial Field.
Despite being 3-9 SU on the season, the Panthers have shown a lot of fight in recent weeks. Carolina scored back-to-back wins against the Saints and Giants. Afterward, they took the one-loss Kansas City Chiefs into deep waters and came out on the wrong side of a 30-27 outcome. Then, last week, the Panthers suffered another close loss in overtime against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers despite entering the contest as rather sizable underdogs. Needless to say, the Panthers are playing much better than their current reputation may indicate. Despite that fact, the Panthers will enter this Sunday’s road trip as sizable 12-point underdogs for a week 14 showdown against the Eagles.

Carolina Panthers vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting Analysis
One of the reasons that this betting spread is so wide surrounds the fact that the Eagles are running the ball extremely well behind RB Saquan Barkley and will have the luxury of facing off against one of the league’s worst run defenses in Carolina. Barkley has been nothing short of incredible this season with 1,499 yards and 11 touchdowns on the season. To keep things into perspective, Barkley has a legitimate shot to reach the unprecedented 2,000-yard plateau over the final five games this season, and this week’s match-up against the Panthers’ run defense serves as an opportunistic stepping stone towards that accomplishment.
As everyone is aware, the Eagles also have a lot more talent outside of Barkley in the likes of QB Jalen Hurts, WR AJ Brown, and others. It’s just that Barkley is having a sensational season and has reshaped the identity of the Eagles’ offense. In this ideal match-up for the Eagles offense, bettors should question if the Panthers can create enough scoring opportunities to threaten the 12-point betting spread. In recent weeks, Carolina QB Bryce Young has been a completely different quarterback than we witnessed in 2023 and even at the beginning of the year. Young is making better decisions and has not thrown an interception in the last three games. The problem with that scenario is that the Eagles lead the NFL in pass-rush and coverage grades, according to PFF. As a result, I see very few match-ups that the Carolina offense should win this Sunday.

Carolina Panthers vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting Prediction
I know this will be an unpopular pick given the Panthers’ recent momentum, but all of the match-ups in this contest are in favor of Philadelphia. As a result, I am going to back the Eagles, who have covered 6 of the last seven games. I believe they will force some turnovers, and Barkley will have a big game!
Jay’s Pick: Take Philadelphia -12
