If the Seattle Seahawks looked a bit sluggish in week
one of the NFL season they turned things around quickly in their week two
home opener against their NFC West rival San Francisco. The Seahawks and
49ers are arguably the two best teams in the entire NFL in company with
theManning Broncos and maybe the upstart Kansas City Chiefsyep, the Chiefs
baby! But regardless ofwhos whothroughout the league there is no doubt
who is the team to beat in the NFC Westsimply put its the Seahawks! Sunday
nights game of the week was really more of a display of defenses but eventually
Seattles D stole the show and won the game outright. The 49ers are real
good, but they just cant beat Seattle at CenturyLink Field. In the last
two contests between these teams Seattle out-scored the Niners 77-16. Dont
get me wrong, San Francisco is good everywhere else they playjust not in
Seattle. Sunday nights game is exactly why teams need to freakily prepare
for not only the Seahawks football team but perhaps more importantly the
Seahawks entire genre or menagerie of noisethe 12thMan has become well
known as well as Beast Mode which, for some reason seems to fit incredibly
well in the gloomy mist of the Pacific Northwest.

Welcome to town Jacksonville Jaguars. Can we offer you
an IV or a Starbucks to go with the beating youre gonna take on game day?Sincerely,
the Seattle Defense. The Seahawks secondary defense is lights out which
allows more pressure and focus for the rest of the D on the QB and running
game of the opposition. They are a young group coming into their prime and
full of confidence and swagger (Shermans the king of swag but he backs
it up too). This defense is as good as they have had in Seattle dating back
to the days when Kenny Easley roamed the secondary. It will be difficult
for Jacksonville to get going at all in this game. Seattle is flat out better
in nearly every category. The only blemish so far in Seattle is the potential
loss of OT Russell Okung who has a torn ligament in his toe.

Offensively, the Hawks appear to be settling into a more comfortable rhythm especially with back to back home games. Seattle QB, Russell Wilson is a threat both with his flight of feet and his savvy playmaking and ability to make great decisions. The Hawks running game is solid with Lynch gaining nearly 100 yards last week which only opens the passing attack for Wilson even more. The loss of OT Russell Okung might cause some hiccups on the O-line but the Hawks should be able to manage without himit is a struggling Jaguars team, so this is probably the best time to be out for a game rather than any other team at this point.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are a banged up crew. They have only scored a total of 11 points in their first two games and they have allowed 47 points. It will be a tough road trip to Seattle with an injury list longer than most grocery list including QB Blaine Gabbert and RB Maurice Jones-Drew. If Im the Offensive Coordinator for Jacksonville Im crossing my fingers this weekend that nobody else goes down especially with the tenacious hard hitting Seattle D coming at them!

I dont think Jacksonville has much of a chance in this game but man, they are getting some love from the books at +19.5 which I suppose is fair enough the way the Hawks have been shutting down teams. Seattle has only allowed a total of 10 points through their first two games.

Seattle will definitely win this contest but Id like to think Jacksonville can cover the 19.5they are in the NFL for crying out loud. Seattle wins again at home but the Jaguars cover the spread, barely.
