With last Sunday’s 36-28 loss to the Packers, the Los Angeles Rams have dropped three straight games following a 7-1 start to the season. The losing streak has moved the Rams into a less comfortable playoff position as they now trail the Arizona Cardinals by two games in the NFC West. Furthermore, Los Angeles could lose their grip on the NFC Wildcard race if they do not turn things around. Fortunately, the Rams should have every opportunity to right the ship on Sunday when they host the Jacksonville Jaguars at SoFi Stadium as 13 point favorites.

At 2-9 SU, the Jaguars remain a major disappointment on the heels of their own three-game losing streak. Most recently, Jacksonville dropped a 21-14 loss to the Falcons in a game that was filled with turnovers and missed opportunities. The Jaguars #1 pick in the NFL Draft by way of Trevor Lawrence also continues to struggle. Lawrence completed just 23 of 42 passing for 228 yards with one touchdown and one pick against a dismal Falcons defense last Sunday. The lone touchdown pass was Lawrence’s first passing touchdown since Week 8 against Seattle, and that is not exactly what Jacksonville had anticipated from their franchise quarterback. Now Lawrence and a struggling offense will get the opportunity to go against an extremely talented Rams defense led by DE Aaron Donald and CB Jalen Ramsey.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Los Angeles Rams Betting Analysis

At first glance, I wanted to jump all over Los Angeles this week mainly because of the Rams’ defense that should dominate Jacksonville’s offense in every phase of the game. After all, the Jaguars are averaging just 11.4 points per game over the last five games. The offensive line has produced minimal room for RB James Robinson and has given up double-digit sacks in five of the last seven games. While Lawrence’s numbers have been pathetic, the offensive line deserves some of the blame as well, and that is a scary thought against the Rams’ elite pass rush on Sunday.

Of course, the other side of the argument is that the Rams are not exactly playing at a level that warrants being 13 points favorites. In fact, I could not find any record of the last time a team lost three games in a row and was still favored by such a large spread. Obviously, the potential is there for the Rams offense that is loaded with talent in the likes of receivers Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham. However, it is imperative the Rams get better results from QB Matthew Stafford if they are truly going to turn things around. During the red hot start earlier this year which featured the 7-1 start, Stafford had thrown 22 touchdowns with just four picks while completing nearly 70% of his passes. In the last three games, Stafford is completing 63% passing with five touchdowns and five interceptions. Stafford has also been sacked nine times through the last three games.

While it would be easy to place blame on the protection issues, the Rams offensive line has played relatively well. Instead, defenses are dropping more defenders into zone coverages which have caused issues for the Rams’ starting quarterback. I’m sure Head Coach Sean McVay would like to get the run game going again, which will help alleviate the match-up concerns, but either way, you slice it, Stafford has to play better to turn things around for the offense.

Jay’s Pick: With so many offensive issues for both teams, I believe the under 47.5 is the best play here. Bet your Rams vs. Jaguars pick and ALL your Week 13 NFL bets for FREE by taking advantage of a 100% REAL CASH bonus on your first deposit of $100 to $1000 at Betnow Sportsbook!
