The NFL’s international series will return to Munich, Germany, this weekend to kick off the Sunday slate with a match-up between the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers. The Panthers will roll into Germany fresh off an upset victory over the New Orleans Saints, which led directly to the firing of Head Coach Dennis Allen. It was just the Panthers 2nd victory of the season and 4th over the last two seasons. However, Carolina is listed as just 5.5 point underdogs for this week’s overseas battle with the G-men, and there are some match-ups that look promising for the Panthers.

The Giants will travel across the pond on the heels of 4-straight losses, with the latest defeat coming last Sunday in a 27-22 loss to the Commanders. The main problems for New York once again surround the anemic offense. After starting the year relatively strong, highlighted by the addition of rookie star WR Malik Nabers, the Giants have fallen back into a place of disappointment. The Giants have averaged just 15 points over the last four games, which have all resulted in losses. However, running back Tyrone Tracy has emerged as a big threat in the backfield, and the Giants’ running game could be the difference maker this Sunday.

New York Giants vs. Carolina Panthers Betting Analysis

As things currently stand, Head Coach Dave Canales has not announced the starting quarterback for this Sunday’s showdown against the Giants. Last week, former starting QB Bryce Young won the game against the Saints. Young started the season as the Panthers starter but was benched in place of QB Andy Dalton, who was only out due to a sprained thumb on his throwing hand. As a result, Canales has yet to announce the starter for Sunday. While I personally believe Dalton gives Carolina the better opportunity, Dalton has not exactly been sharp in his recent performances either.

More importantly, the Giants have been really good against the pass this season despite their offensive struggles. In a game where they should be able to control the clock, I have less faith that the Panthers will be able to produce scoring opportunities. Meanwhile, the Giants may have the opportunity to ride their emerging star RB in Tyron Tracy, who will draw a dream match-up against a Panthers defense that has allowed an NFL-worst 159.3 yards per game. Not only has Tracy been solid, but let’s also give credit to the Giants offensive line, which has played well. Despite my worries for QB Daniel Jones, the Giants should be able to control the line and rely on the ground game for their path to victory.

New York Giants vs. Carolina Panthers Betting Prediction

As I alluded to above, I really like the Giants this week and the way they match up against the Carolina team. The Giants have covered the spread in 6 of the last seven games against Carolina, and I think that trend continues this week. Lay the points with confidence!

Jay’s Pick: Take the Giants -5.5
