The Dallas Cowboys delivered a sizable upset in last week’s rivalry match-up against the Washington Commanders despite one of the wildest finishes witnessed this year. The Cowboys snapped a five-game losing streak by getting a big effort from the defense, who was able to force three turnovers and limit QB Jayden Daniels from big plays in the passing game. Additionally, the Cowboys came up with two touchdowns on special teams to earn the outright upset as double-digit underdogs. This Thursday, the Cowboys will return to their annual Thanksgiving Day spotlight when they host the New York Giants inside AT&T Stadium.

One week after releasing QB Daniel Jones, the Giants continued to struggle in last week’s 30-7 blowout loss to Tampa Bay, which marked the 6th straight loss for the G-men. Newly promoted starting quarterback Tommy DeVito was ineffective and star WR Malik Nabers was outspoken with his frustration and usage in the Giants offense. Needless to say, Head Coach Brian Daboll has some serious issues on his hands, and the quarterback issues do not appear to be going away any time soon. With those things in mind, the Giants will attempt to use their frustration and turn things into a positive on Thursday when they make the trip to AT&T Stadium as mere 4-point underdogs.

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys Betting Analysis

Offensive struggles are the main storyline for both teams going into this NFC East Thanksgiving Day showdown. While the Giants’ offensive woes have been heavily publicized, Dallas has also continued to struggle in a significant way following the loss of QB Dak Prescott. QB Cooper Rush has looked like a subpar backup through two starts, and the offense continues to struggle on the ground despite elevated usage in RB Rico Dowdle. However, I do like the Cowboys personnel match-up against the Giants defense. WR CeeDee Lamb is still one of the best in the NFL, and the Cowboys have enough talent to exploit the Giants’ defense in all areas of the field.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the ball, Coach Daboll has his hands full for several reasons. The Giants have attempted to lean heavier on the ground attack in recent weeks with rookie RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. In last week’s match-up, the Buccaneers took one of the NFL’s worst rush defenses and loaded the box against the Giants to stop the run in an effective fashion. Whether it was a lack of confidence or a lack of coaching, the Giants attempted just five passes in the first half before the game started getting out of reach. I expect Dallas to have a similar game plan this week towards stopping the run and they will have confidence in their pass-rush against DeVito. Unless we see some big plays unfold, I think this match-up favors the Cowboys in several ways.

New York Giants vs. Dallas Cowboys Betting Prediction

I expect the Giants to open the playbook this week in DeVito’s 2nd start after a disastrous conservative effort in week 12. However, I don’t think the results are going to be much different. I’ll take Dallas here 10 times out of 10.

Jay’s Pick: Take Dallas -4
