After a disappointing home loss to the Dallas Cowboys in week 1, the Cleveland Browns scored their first win of the season in a 18-13 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars in week 2. While it was not a pretty performance by any stretch of the imagination, the Browns defense ultimately stifled the Jaguars passing attack holding QB Trevor Lawrence to hit just 14 of 30 passes in one of the least efficient performances of his career. With the victory, the Browns moved back to the .500 mark on the season and should have a great opportunity to get above that mark when they host the New York Giants on Sunday.

The Giants are coming off a heartbreaking road loss to the Washington Commanders following a pitiful performance in Week 1, which resulted in a blowout loss to the Vikings. Last week, however, the Giants produced a much better performance on the offensive side of the football and led for the majority of the contest. However, the Commanders were able to march down the field and kick a game-winning field goal as time expired. The loss moved the Giants to 0-2 SU marking the worst start of the season in Head Coach Brian Daboll’s tenure. On Sunday, the Giants will make their 2nd straight road trip and are currently listed as 6.5-point underdogs, which is throwing Daboll right into the early season hot seat!

New York Giants vs. Cleveland Browns Betting Analysis

If you are a fan of brilliant play-calling and offensive shootouts, you might want to find a different game to watch this weekend. Both the Giants and the Browns have been downright depressing on the offensive side of the football. Despite the strong defensive effort last week, the Browns were still a mess on the offensive side of the football for the 2nd straight week. QB Deshaun Watson has not shown much to inspire optimism. The Browns running attack remains solid with Jerome Ford and D’Onta Foreman. However, this offense definitely misses superstar RB Nick Chubb, who is expected to be on the shelf for several more weeks.

Fortunately for the Browns, the Giants may have an even worse offense. QB Daniel Jones is awful, and that opinion is not up for debate. However, the Giants did put the offense on the shoulders of their first-round pick in WR Malik Nabers last week and it produced much better results for the unit as a whole. Nabers was peppered with 18 targets and converted that into ten receptions for 127 yards with a touchdown. The ball movement also opened up holes in the run-game which led to RB Devin Singletary having a solid outing which resulted in 95 rushing yards with a touchdown. Simply put, those are embarrassingly some of the best numbers that the Giants have seen from their skill position players in quite some time and perhaps gives this offense something to build on going forward.

New York Giants vs. Cleveland Browns Betting Prediction

From a match-up perspective, DE Myles Garrett and the Browns pass-rush should be able to get pressure consistently on Daniel Jones and with CB Denzel Ward inching back to fully healthy; I think this will be a tough match-up for a Giants team that needs to throw the football to be successful. As a result, I like the Browns here and possibly a consideration towards the under!
