The Philadelphia Eagles returned from a Week 5 bye to capture a hard-fought 20-16 victory over the Cleveland Browns last Sunday. Despite the fact that fans in attendance were chanting for the firing of Head Coach Nick Sirianni, the Eagles improved to 3-2 and are just a half-game behind Washington in the battle for the NFC East. On Sunday, the Eagles will travel to East Rutherford for a divisional showdown against the New York Giants. The Eagles have won six of the last six meetings against the Giants and perhaps will need another one to keep Sirianni off the hot seat.

The Giants will enter Sunday’s week seven match-up fresh off an ugly 17-7 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Following a big performance in the win against Seattle in week 5, the Giants offense returned to mush behind a horrible performance from QB Daniel Jones. Jones hit just 22 of 41 passing, producing 205 yards and one interception. The sad part about Jones’ performance is that the Giants were able to run the football fairly well and got a big effort from the defense. At 2-4 SU, the Giants are in desperate need of turning things around, or this season will soon start slipping away. On Sunday, the Giants will be 3.5 point underdogs when they host the Eagles inside MetLife Stadium.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. New York Giants Betting Analysis

The 42.5-point total is representative of the performance of both the Eagles and Giants offenses throughout the start of the season. While the Giants’ struggles have been somewhat expected with the loss of superstar RB Saquan Barkley, the G-men have also been without their biggest asset in rookie WR Malik Nabers over the last two weeks. Nabers suffered a concussion in the Thursday night loss to the Cowboys in week four but he is expected to return this week which should give Jones and the Giants offense a much needed boost. Despite Jones’ performance last week, Nabers creates opportunities for the entire passing attack and should help Jones against an Eagles defense that has been average at best.

Speaking of Barkley, he will be lined up on the opposing sidelines this Sunday after spending so many years with the Giants, and this is perhaps a perfect revenge scenario. The offense has relied heavily on Barkley throughout the season due to a slow-developing passing offense. Despite some struggles, the Eagles are healthy with QB Jalen Hurts along with receivers AJ Brown and Devonta Smith. With that being a big positive, I expect that the Eagles will feed Barkley against a Giants defense, allowing nearly 130 yards per game.

I am not going to overcomplicate this prediction. The Eagles are simply the better team and have more realistic paths to victory. The Giants will need to create some turnovers and potentially produce some big plays. I just think the Eagles have more ways to produce everything needed for a victory and a cover!
