The Tennessee Titans had their five-game winning streak snapped last Sunday night in a 20-17 overtime loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite not having QB Ryan Tannehill for the 2nd straight week, the Titans’ defense stood strong for the 2nd straight week against one of the best teams in the NFL. However, in the end, the Titans could not muster enough offense with backup QB Malik Willis who definitely struggled throughout the Sunday Night Football affair. On Sunday, Tennessee (5-3 SU) returns home when they battle the Denver Broncos at Nissan Stadium as mere 3-point betting favorites.

The visiting Broncos are fresh off a Week 9 bye and should come into Sunday’s contest well-rested. Most recently, in week 8, Denver pulled out a 21-17 victory over the Jaguars to snap a four-game losing skid. Even with the recent victory, the Broncos have underperformed throughout the season, and QB Russell Wilson has been at the forefront of those underwhelming results. Once thought to be the biggest acquisition in recent Broncos history, Wilson has completed a measly 57% passing this season with just six scores and four picks. Statistically, the Broncos are the 3rd worst offense in the league averaging 15.1 points per game and have taken a huge step backward from where they were a year ago with QB Teddy Bridgewater. Needless to say, Denver has a lot to prove coming out of this week’s bye and for the entire 2nd half of the season.

Denver Broncos vs. Tennessee Titans Betting Analysis

Titans starting QB Ryan Tannehill remains questionable going into Sunday’s match-up against the Broncos. Tannehill was able to log some limited practice this week, but there is still some concern around his mobility which could keep him sidelined for another week. Either way, the Titans will likely deplore another heavy ground attack with Derrick Henry, who has rushed for 100-plus yards in 5 straight games with seven touchdowns through that same stretch. Like or love it, Tennessee’s passing attack is among the worst in the league, but the running attack and strong defensive play will keep them competitive moving forward.

On paper, Denver has more weapons on the offensive side of the football. Wilson has a talented duo of receivers in Courtland Sutton and Jerry Juedy, combined with a serviceable backfield that is now led by Melvin Gordon. However, Denver has failed to utilize their weapons in the passing game to the extent needed to force solid production. Part of the reason is because of Wilson’s poor play and the other part is related to Head Coach Nathaniel Hackett’s determination to keep the ball on the ground. Stylistically, Hackett’s desire for a heavy ground attack is not ideal against a Tennessee team that ranks 2nd in the NFL, allowing just 87 yards per game. As a result, I expect Tennessee’s defense to match up well in this contest and would not be surprised to see another close defensive-biased outcome.

Denver Broncos vs. Tennessee Titans Betting Prediction

I think both defenses have extremely favorable match-ups in this game, especially if Willis gets his 3rd straight start. Either way, I think the low total is not low enough.
