The Seattle Seahawks return home after defeating Washington 27-17 as 7-point chalk. The very late FG got them the cover on Monday Night Football. The 10-point margin seemed like 20 and the Legion of Boom held Redskins to just 301 yards. The Seahawaks outgained Washington by 96 yards and have now won the stats in nine of the past 10 games dating back to last season. I have so much respect for Pete Carroll and what he as accomplish there in a relatively short period. The man can coach and is an ATS bankrolling machine. Seattle is 19-1 SU and 15-5 ATS in their last 20 home tilts. During that time, the average margin has been above 15 points per contest.
Dallas defeated the Houston Texans 20-17 as 5-point home chalk, although it seems liked a road game. That’s another terrible job by Cowboy fans to let the Texan fans take over stadium. Anyway, I digress. The Cowboys outgained Houston by 126 yards and Tony Romo looked 10 years younger when he rolled away from J J Watt to complete a long pass down field. Dallas played well and their Special teams has been a strength all season. Seattle is ranked No .10 and Dallas is ranked No. 7. on special teams through the first five weeks. Dan Bailey was made 31 or his past 32 FG attempts for Dallas including the game winner in OT.

I think the Dallas Cowboys can hang with this Seahawks’ team. They will be coming in off a short-week and flying all the way back from the East Coast. The Seahawks struggle against big, physical, offensive lines (See Chargers and Broncos games) and I think the Cowboy line is downright nasty. The Cowboys have been so physical this season, NFL teams are 0-3 in their very next game after playing Dallas. The Cowboys should be able to run the ball with DeMarco Murray and if Seattle stacks the box, Romo will have some great one-on-one looks with Dez Bryant, Jason Witten and the emerging start Terrance Williams. Don’t forget, the Cowboys offensive play-calling has been so much better under Scott Linehan and the defense has been markedly better under Rod Marinelli, despite losing some key players to injury. Seattle’s secondary is allowing 256 yards per game, so look for Romo and the Cowboys to spread out the field to gain some favorable one-on-one matchups.
The home team is 6-0 SU, but just 2-4 ATS in the last six meetings. The Cowboys are 4-1 ATS in their last five October games. The Seahawks are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games in Week 6, including 1-5 ATS as favorites of more than 7 points. Dallas is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings and also 6-2 ATS in their last contest as underdogs. Seattle has never laid this many point to Dallas as the most was 5.5 back in 2001. The value is all over the road dog.
Jeff’s Pick to Cover the Point Spread: Dallas Cowboys +8.5
Wise guys will be all over Dallas in this game. Short Week for Seattle and they play their first division game of the season next Week. Not sure Seattle will be opening the playbook, if you will. The Underdog is now 21-5 ATS in the last 26 Cowboy games. Very light play on Dallas!
