The Dallas Cowboys disappointing season continued last Sunday night with a 30-24 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. With the defeat, the Cowboys have now dropped 4 of their last six games. More importantly, the Cowboys’ schedule is not getting any easier with a tough 4-game stretch on the horizon, which has put a lot of pressure on Head Coach Mike McCarthy. With the pressure growing intensely around the organization, the Cowboys will attempt to get back to the .500 mark when they travel to battle the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Last week, the Falcons knocked off the Buccaneers for the 2nd time this season to take sole control of 1st place in the NFC South at 5-3 SU. With injuries mounting in Tampa, the Falcons have emerged as a huge favorite to win the division, and they have honestly been playing better football as the season has progressed. With that being said, Atlanta’s five wins have mostly been against the rest of the NFC South, which is arguably the worst division in football. The Falcon’s only victory outside the division was against the struggling Philadelphia Eagles earlier in the season. Therefore, the Falcons will be looking to prove they are legitimate playoff contenders when they host the Cowboys at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Dallas Cowboys vs. Atlanta Falcons Betting Analysis

The Cowboys’ struggles have been well-documented this season. On the offensive side of the football, the Cowboys have the worst ground attack in the league, which has put all of the pressure on QB Dak Prescott and the passing attack. WR CeeDee Lamb continues to get a ton of defensive attention, and while Lamb had a huge afternoon against the 49ers, catching 13 balls for 146 yards with two touchdowns, Dallas still needs an additional threat to emerge consistently in the passing attack to lessen the defensive focus on Lamb who has been bottled down more times than not in recent weeks.

While I am sure there will be opportunities for Lamb again this week, I believe the Cowboys’ biggest challenge will once again be on the defensive side of the football. The Cowboys have been downright bad on the defensive side of the football team this year, which will open the door for this balanced Falcons offense to attack in many ways. Tailbacks Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier should have upside match-ups against a Cowboys defense that cannot stop anyone on the ground. Additionally, QB Kirk Cousins should have plenty of opportunities down the field, especially if LB Micah Parsons remains sidelined. Atlanta has posted some big scoring numbers in recent weeks, and this match-up will allow the opportunity for that trend to continue again!

Dallas Cowboys vs. Atlanta Falcons Betting Prediction

Without a legitimate running threat, the Cowboys have turned into a fast-paced passing attack that either strikes quickly or is off the field quickly. I believe the Falcons’ running attack will wear down the Dallas defense and force the Cowboys to play desperately from behind. As a result, I like the over, which has cashed in seven of the last nine games for Dallas!
