2013 Conference Championships Point Spreads

We’re down to the NFL’s version of the Final Four! Many were shocked that the huge underdog Ravens were able to get past the Denver Broncos. Many cashed in on the spread, but few of those people were expecting the game to be a straight up win. Imagine what a moneyline bet would have paid! (That’d have taken some SERIOUS nads!)

This weekends games should prove to be exciting despite the general public thinking that we’re already locked in for a Niners/Pats Super Bowl 47 matchup. Here’s this weekend’s lines and odds:

Sunday, January 20th Games (3PM EST on FOX)

San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons
Point Spread: SF -4.5/ATL +4.5
Moneyline: Niners -200/Dirty Birds +170
Total: 49 (opened at 47.5)

Notes: San Fran opened up as a -3 road favorite and the line has moved to -4.5 at time of print (Wed.) The Falcons keep pulling rabbits out of hats but we believe the Niners run game will be a bit too much for the Dirty Birds defense. We hate to side with the public, which is usually the kiss of death, however line play gives a huge advantage to SF, even with it being a road game for them.

Baltimore Ravens vs. New England Patriots (6:30PM EST on CBS)
Point Spread: Bal +9/NE -9
Moneyline: Birds +320/Pats -400
Over/Under: 51.5

Notes: The world (72%) are betting on the Ravens yet the line has barely moved. There’s a general rule of thumb in sports betting… “When something looks too good to be true, it probably is!” and that couldn’t be more true here. We’re anticipating a Patriots blowout here, sending Ray Lewis into retirement with an upside down smile.
