The Titans and Browns are playing some good football as of late, heading into their AFC showdown
Sunday afternoon in Nashville. Tennessee just beat a couple of fellow playoff contenders on the road the last two weeks while Cleveland owns a three-game winning streak. The Titans are getting most of the money action in the early betting, bumping the line a couple of points. How are we playing this game with our free NFL pick?
NFL Betting Odds
Week 13 NFL betting odds opened Tennessee at -3.5 over Cleveland, with an over/under of right around 52. Early betting action then bumped both the Titans and the total two points, to -5.5 and 54.
Browns Betting Preview
Cleveland rides a three-game winning streak into Sunday after holding off Jacksonville last week 27-25. The Browns spotted the Jaguars the first three points of the game but rallied to lead 17-13 at the half. Cleveland then trailed in the third quarter 19-17 but used a 10-0 spurt to go up eight points. In the end the Browns gave up a Jags touchdown with two minutes to go but got a defensive stop on a two-point conversion to preserve the lead, then made a first down to run the clock out.
However, Cleveland coughed up the cover as a seven-point favorite.
The Browns out-gained Jacksonville 459-375, out-rushed the Jaguars 207-140 and won time of possession by a 33:27 split.
Cleveland has now out-gained and out-rushed each of its last three opponents.
Two weeks ago the Browns beat Philadelphia 22-17 and covered at -2.5; three weeks ago they beat Houston 10-7 and would have covered at -4.5 if running back Nick Chubb weren’t so darn modest.
At 8-3 overall Cleveland probably won’t catch first-place Pittsburgh in the AFC North race but it also owns the No. 5 spot in the AFC playoff standings.

Titans Betting Preview
Tennessee, meanwhile, owns back-to-back road victories over quality opponents after winning at Indianapolis last week 45-26. The Titans drove their first two possessions of the game 75 yards to touchdowns and later used a 21-0 run to lead 35-14 into halftime. They later allowed the Colts to get within 38-26 with just under three minutes to go but iced the game by returning an onside kick for a score.
Tennessee out-gained Indianapolis 449-336, out-rushed the Colts, who owned the No. 3 rush defense in the League, 229-56 and dominated time of possession by a 36:24 split.
The Titans have now out-rushed each of their last five opponents.
Two weeks ago Tennessee out-rushed Baltimore 173-129 and won 30-24 in overtime.
At 8-3 overall the Titans lead the AFC South by one game over Indianapolis but trail 10-1 Kansas City by two games in the battle for the No. 2 spot in the AFC playoff standings.
These teams have played six common opponents so far this season; Cleveland is 5-2 SU but just 1-6 ATS against Cincinnati, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Houston and Jacksonville, while Tennessee is 4-3 SU, 3-4 ATS vs. those outfits.
These teams met most recently back in Week 1 of last season, a 43-13 Titans triumph in Cleveland. But that game was closer than that final score would indicate. Tennessee only led the Browns 15-13 late into the third quarter, before breaking things open.

These teams appear closer to us than the spread on this game seems to indicate. Tennessee owns an edge on offense but Cleveland owns the edge on defense. And we love betting the better defense in match-ups like this. Ultimately this game should come down to one score in the fourth quarter, so we’re taking the Browns and the points.
