The Carolina Panthers dropped their 3rd straight game on Sunday with another disappointing performance in a 29-21 defeat to the Atlanta Falcons. For the 2nd straight game, QB Cam Newton was pulled for a dismal performance. After going just 5 of 21 passing in the loss to Miami, Newton completed 15 of 23 passes for 178 yards with an interception in the loss to Atlanta. Meanwhile, QB P.J. Walker provided the Panthers’ only throwing touchdown but even he struggled by completing just 6 of 12 passes for 75 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 pick. Needless to say, Carolina continues to struggle significantly on the offensive side of the ball and will get the steep challenge of facing one of the NFL’s top defenses on Sunday when they travel to take on the Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium.
Despite once being considered the top threat in the AFC, the Bills have dropped 3 straight games and are in jeopardy of sacrificing their playoff hopes if things do not turn around soon. Most recently, Buffalo suffered a 33-27 overtime loss to the defending Super Bowl Champions in Tampa Bay. The Bills actually trailed 24-3 in that game and rallied in a 24-3 comeback to force overtime. Despite the gutsy effort, the Bills exited their week 14 loss with a few noteworthy injury concerns. WR Emmanuel Sanders went down with a knee injury and QB Josh Allen is considered day to day with a foot sprain. Obviously, the big concern is around Allen, who is Buffalo’s franchise quarterback that is the heart of the Bills offense. Therefore, Allen’s status will be worth monitoring as we get closer to game time.

Carolina Panthers vs. Buffalo Bills Betting Analysis
As it currently stands, Allen is expected to be on the field in Sunday’s home game against the Panthers. Considering the circumstances, Allen’s presence is needed to keep the Bills in control of their playoff destiny in a very favorable match-up. Speaking of the match-up, the Panthers’ offensive woes are expected to continue against the Bills scoring defense which is yielding just 17 points per game. The Panthers have been focused on short-intermediate passing routes in the wake of Christian McCaffrey’s season ending injury and have all but abandoned the run in recent weeks. While RB Chubba Hubbard is a decent backup option, the Panthers inability to stretch the field has caused defenses to load the box with no fear of getting burned. In the frigid conditions on Sunday, I expect the Panthers’ offense will remain the trainwreck we have witnessed throughout the 2nd half of the season.
For Buffalo, obviously QB Josh Allen’s status remains a priority before any bets can be locked-in. If Allen is available as expected, I believe Buffalo’s style of offense will favor the match-up. The Panthers defense funnels into the passing game which is perfect for Buffalo pass-oriented attack. Even with WR Emmanuel Sanders on the shelf, receivers Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Gabriel Davis, and TE Dawson Know give Buffalo plenty of ways to be creative against the Carolina secondary. The only concern for Buffalo is the play of the offensive line against a solid Carolina front. The Bills have relinquished numerous sacks in recent weeks and the Panthers’ pass-rush could find some success in this spot as well. Ultimately, I just don’t think it will be enough to compensate for Carolina’s dumpster of an offense and for that reason I believe this is the Bills’ match-up to lose on both sides of the ball.
