Point Spread: ATL +1 / PHI -1
Over/Under Total: 50.5

One of the better NFC games in week ten will be the Atlanta Falcons at the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday at 1:00pm. Well, maybe I am biased because I am a life long Falcons fan, but seriously, this game should be a good one with huge playoff implications at stake. The Falcons come in at 6-3 overall and first place in the NFC South while the Eagles sit in last place but barely in the NFC East.

The Eagles are a one point favorite at home over the Falcons while the total points are set at 50.5 combined. Against the spread this season, both teams match their actual win loss record. Atlanta is 6-3 while Philly sits at 4-4 against the oddsmakers lines. I have a feeling that this line may change to Atlanta being a slight favorite by kickoff. 71% of the early action has the Falcons covering and 63% believe this game soars over the 50.5 total.

The Eagles, led by rookie quarterback, Carson Wentz stormed out of the gate early on in 2016 going 3-0 to start the season. Well, since that time, Wentz and the rest of the Eagles have come back to earth and since that 3-0 start have gone 1-4 to fall to .500 on the season. The Eagles have looked good statistically this season but the stats just have not translated into wins recently. Philadelphia has the 8th best scoring defense in the NFL and the 10th best scoring offense. The run game is average with Darren Sproles getting most of the work over Ryan Matthews and the passing game has pretty much disappeared with the Eagles ranking just 28th out of the 32 NFL teams. This weekend, Philly better find a way to score. The Atlanta Falcons I promise you are not scared of the Eagles defense. Atlanta leads the NFL in points scored at 33.9 per contest. They have done this against teams like Denver, Carolina, and Seattlethis offense is LEGIT and if Philadelphia cannot find a way to slow them down, they could be staring at 4-5 by 4:00pm on Sunday.

As for the Falcons, I already mentioned their offense, but their defense needs some work. Ranking 28th in the NFL, the Falcons are allowing opponents to score nearly 30 points per game. If Atlanta could dial it in defensively even just a little more they could be a legit NFC contender. On the injury front, the Falcons are a little banged up but that is mostly on the defensive side of the ball. Corner back Desmond Trufant is nursing a shoulder injury that many think could be more serious than the coaches are putting on. Other injuries for Atlanta includes Dwight Freeney and on the offensive side, Tevin Coleman is still out as of now. The offense will be okay but this is the perfect chance for Philadelphia to get their offense rolling again against one of the lesser talented defenses.

This game is going to be very interesting. Matt Ryan and Julio Jones are going to put up big numbers, they always do. Can Atlantas defense finally shut someone down? I will say this though, the Falcons do give up points, but they have made some big plays as well this season, especially late in games when they needed it. I think this Eagles team is overmatched in this game. When I saw the match up, I seriously guessed Atlanta would go on the road and be favored by a few points. Now that I see Atlanta GETTING a point, I am all over it. Atlanta will win this game 34-24.
