Before the season started, I, as an Atlanta Falcons fan looked
at my teams schedule and thought, perfect, we play the Buffalo Bills December 1stthats
an easy win. Well, not so fast. Little did I, or the rest of the world
know just how pathetic the Falcons would be this season. Injuries, poor
play, bad GM moves, and just plain sucking has caused this team to now have
the inside track on the top pick in this springs NFL Draft. What a difference
a year can make. Buffalo comes in as the home favorite (game is in Toronto), favored by three
points over the Birds, and the total points are set at 46. Neither team
is a playoff contender and this game should and probably will go down to
the wire, the only question is, who will win? Can Atlanta finally get a
road win or will the woes in the Dirty South continue?
I have written on the Atlanta Falcons for the last three or so weeks, and when I am not writing on them, I am making some cash from my bookie by fading them. I did last week take them to cover versus the Saints, but prior to that I told you guys Carolina would destroy them, and I also made some dough betting Tampa and Seattle to take care of business. This Falcons team is badreally bad. Matt Ryan has thrown more picks than touchdowns in the last four weeks, and they just seem to be getting worse and worse each week. Yea, ok, they held their own against the Saints, but lets be real.the Saints were toying with them and didnt bring their A game. Hell, they brought their C game and still won in the Georgia Dome. Atlantas offensive line has take more heat that anyone in Atlanta, but look at the defensive line as well. They are below average at best against the run, but they put no pressure on opposing QBs, and I mean NO PRESSURE. This team is in a bad place, with the exception of probably being the first pick in the draft, there isnt anything else positive to say about Atlanta. How can they win this game? Besides the fact that they divine intervention, they just need to man up and play with some heart. I will admit, they did play hard Thursday night against the Saints. If they can somehow repeat that effort, then they might can pull this thing off.
The Buffalo Bills come into this game sitting with a 4-7 overall record. It is a very strange 4-7 however with losses to Cleveland and Pittsburgh, but wins over Carolina and a down to the wire opening day loss to the New England Patriots. Buffalo can play with anyone it seems, but they just have issues closing teams out from time to time. The reason for Buffalo staying somewhat competitive is the fact that they run the ball really well, and the defense puts pressure on opposing QBs. That is key to this game against Atlantapressure Matty Ice. Like I mentioned earlier, the Atlanta O-Line is awful. It seriously may be the worst offensive line in the history of organized football. You laugh at that comment, but if you could see my face, you wouldnt even see a smirk.they are garbage. If Buffalo can just run the ball on offense, hit Ryan a few times on defense, and play an overall clean game, they will win and cover the 3 points.
Bobs Pick to Cover the Point Spread: 59% of the Vegas action is sitting on the Bills to cover this spread. I will be honest, I see this game being a complete toss up. I would not be surprised with any result whether it be an overtime battle or a total blowout. Buffalo is inconsistent, while the Falcons are consistently terrible. I am going to go with the public on this game however. Remember, the Falcons have not won a road game all year, and I just dont see them fixing the problems they have out of nowhere and getting a win in the cold up north. Buffalo will win a sloppy, ugly game by a score of about 24-17. This game will be boring no doubt. Prediction: BUFFALO -3.
