NBA: 2008 NBA Rookie of the Year Betting Odds and picks to win the award. – 10/13
Injured Wizard: The Washington Wizards are reporting that starting center Brendan Haywood tore a ligament in his right wrist and will be on the IR for 4-6 months. Etan Thomas will take his place in the starting lineup. – 10/8
Rook to Start? Thunder coaching staff have been quoted as saying that G Russell Westbrook may start despite his lack of experience. – 9/29
Injured: Warriors G Monta Ellis will miss approximately 3 months after having surgery on his ankle. This means he will likely miss the first month of the season. – 8/27
Team USA: America spanked Lithuania 120-84 in an Olympic warmup game. – 8/1
Sentenced: Crooked NBA ref Tim Donaghy given 15 months for his part in NBA betting scandal. – 7/29
Big Bucks: Andris Biedrins of the Golden State Warriors has signed a 6 year 63 million dollar contract. A well deserved deal for the hustling big man. – 7/27
Not so Fast: While it was reported that Maurice Evans had signed with the Warriors, apparently he has backed out at the last second to hold out for more money. – 7/25
More Signings: The Golden State Warriors signed free agent Maurice Evans today. Evans is a super athletic player who makes a quick G.S. team even quicker. The Warriors are slowly piecing together a team that will be very difficult to keep up with in the transition game. Now the big question is will the coaching staff utilize all these horses the proper way? – 7/23
Free Agent Signing: Former Celtic James Posey has signed a four year deal with the New Orleans Hornters. A nice fit for the team.
What the Hell? The Denver Nuggets shipped C Marcus Camby to the Clippers for basically nothing. (2nd round pick option). Looks like contract dumping and positioning for the hot 2010 free agent class. Now the Nuggets have NO defense. Look for some high scoring games this year in the mile high city.
NBA Trade Rumor: The Clippers are supposedly interested in Knicks F Zach Randolph. With the departure of Elton Brand to the 76ers, the Clips are desperate for a F that can score. – 7/13
76ers Land Brand: An announcement will soon be made that he’s signed a 5 year deal. In other news, Corey Maggette will likely be signing with the Golden State Warriors, also a 5 year deal. – 7/9
Another Clipper to Defect? Rumors are swirling that Clips G/F Corey Maggette has received an offer from the Boston Celtics. Maggette is a good ball player but this is a questionable move to mess with the chemistry of “the big 3” because of Corey’s need for so many shots per game. – 7/8
BRAND New Team: Clippers F Elton Brand is supposedly leaning towards signing with the Philadelphia 76ers. If for some reason that doesn’t work out, he’s also said to be interested in the Golden State Warriors. – 7/8
As Expected: Wizards G Gilbert Arenas re-signed for six years with the team. – 7/4
