Betting Basketball Teasers
by Predictem.com Staff
If your a basketball bettor that is constantly losing games by 1 to a few points you may want to consider betting basketball teasers. What’s a teaser you ask? It’s like a parlay where you pick two or more teams but the difference is that you can move the line “x” amount of points, depending on what type of teaser you select.
Every sportsbook has it’s own rules for teaser bets including how many points you can bet, how many teams you can include, if ties are a loss or a push and what the cost of the wager will be.
The standard teasers in basketball run from 4-5 points. Some books offer the ability to buy more points on the wager. These are known as sweetheart and monster teasers and can go as high as 15 points at sportsbooks such as 5 Dimes.
Let’s take a look at some regular teaser odds:
BASKETBALL | |||
---|---|---|---|
TEAMS | 4 POINTS | 4.5 POINTS | 5 POINTS |
2 | 1/1 | 10/11 | 5/6 |
3 | 9/5 | 8/5 | 3/2 |
4 | 3/1 | 5/2 | 2/1 |
5 | 5/1 | 4/1 | 7/2 |
6 | 7/1 | 6/1 | 5/1 |
7 | 10/1 | 9/1 | 8/1 |
8 | 15/1 | 12/1 | 10/1 |
9 | 20/1 | 15/1 | 12/1 |
10 | 25/1 | 20/1 | 15/1 |
As you can see from the example above, you can select from
2 to ten teams and move the line 4 or 5 points one each bet. This goes
for both sides and totals.
