Rock-n-Roll 400 Qualifying Picks
by Yomonte of Predictem.com
Qualigying for the Rock-n-Roll 400 @ Richmond begins at 6:10 pm EST on ESPN2
Pick: Greg Biffle over Matt Kenseth
Pick: Jeff Burton over Elliott Sadler
Pick: Casey Mears over Clint Boyer
You can always find a mismatch at Olympic if you look real hard. Biffle is the only Ford that has promise against Chevy. Hamlin, Gordon, Burton and Johnson to name a few in the past few years who have had great success in qualifying with their Chevy’s, have had one lonewolf Ford and that would be Greg fkn Biffle.
Teammate to Matt, has yet to qualify ahead of Greg in the past two seasons, is in what I figure is a play on us. Greg was on the pole last spring and a outside row in 2005. Although Biffle will miss the chase, he is still fighting to stay with Rouch. Matt started ahead of Greg in this seasons spring race, but you can’t go by one event. Matt, like Jeff Burton, who were teammates for Roush, never qualifyied well but always raced well. Matt doesn’t need a good starting spot. Biffle has been the best Ford at Richmond the last 2 years in qualifying.
Elliott Sadler’s days have come and gone. IMO, he’s another Jeff Green and Kyle Petty. The above statement about Jeff Burton not qualifying well holds true when he was with Rouch. Now with Richard Childress Racing has done quite well not only at Richmond but in weeks past. He reminds me of Mark Martin, who also drove for Rouch. A seasoned Vet and since his move to RCR, has not only raced well, but has qualified well. Sadler has had to settle for a provisional in the last two spring races Goes up agianst Burton who started on the outside of row one in this race last year. I give Sadler no hope of changing his consistant woes anytime soon.

Now to the Kid that has boggled my mind for the last few weeks, Casey Mears. This kid has been the prodigy of Oympic and every other book the past month or so and has been bringing bettors that have gone against him to their knees. Casey has been matched up against Mark Martin and other big names. I got lucky last week when I went against Mears taking Montoya. Got a push as Montoya never took the green flag and did not start a timed session. Now he goes against Clint Boyer in qualifying. Last three races at Richmond, Casey’s worst start is better than Clint’s best which is 16th. Not to dog Clint as he is doing well and is one of the top teams. Casey stays with Hendricks while IMO the better driver in Kyle Busch vacates a spot for JR. But Casey has done well since the announcement of that move.
Olympic Sportsbook has Casey Mears +100, Jeff Burton -105 and Greg Biffle at -125
