There’s a few things I really like about this game, none of which have to do with stats. For starters, the Nats had to fly from Washington DC to Colorado. Jetlag doesn’t usually hit hard until the second day, but it’s still a hassle. Second, oftentimes teams come to Colorado and overswing in their first game because players have grandiose plans of smashing homeruns due to the thin air reputation. Baseball is a game where if you try to hit dingers, you’re going to whiff. Lastly, Washington is 1-5 this season and has scored 2 or less runs in all but one of their games. On the Rockies side, they’ll be amped as it’s their home opener. I also like Kyle Freeland anytime he pitches in night games as he’s a completely different pitcher after the sun goes down. (NEVER bet on him in day games!) I’m betting the Rockies at -150.
