The Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles will open a three-game set at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on Monday, April 9, 2018 at 7:05PM. The MLB board lists the host Orioles as a -110 favorite with the total line offered up at 8.5 runs.
Toronto comes into this game off a solid 7-4 win over Texas to take their second straight series after splitting their opening set 2-2 versus the NY Yankees. In the match, the Jays’ Curtis Granderson and Justin Smoak continued their hot streak with Granderson coming in as a pinch hitter going one for two with one RBI and Smoak going two for five and scoring two runs. After dropping the first two games of this campaign, the Jays have won six of eight.
Baltimore looked horrible in their first six games winning their season opener and then dropping five straight. The hitting and the pitching were both to blame allowing their opponents 34 runs while managing just 14. They turned that around against the Yankees’ lighting up their pitching staff for 23 runs in the four games and taking the series three games to one.
Pitching Match-Up
Toronto: The Jays send out J.A. Happ for his third start of the year. Happ hasn’t looked exceptionally sharp in the two outings allowing seven runs over ten innings pitched. He did, however, register 14 strikeouts in the game and will face tonight Baltimore who leads the league in strikeouts this season with 11.60 per game! The Jays left-hander had three starts against the Orioles last season holding Baltimore to three or fewer runs in all three including an April visit to Camden when he got the QS going seven frames allowing three runs.
Baltimore: The Orioles will go with their Ace Dylan Bundy, who has yet to record a decision in two starts, but pitched well in both throwing a combined 13 innings allowing just two runs on striking out 15. Bundy has three career starts against Toronto and has pitched admirably with all three deemed quality starts. His career numbers are 19 innings pitched allowing two runs on 14 hits striking out 22.

Jays at Orioles Pick 4/9/2018
I’m not the type of handicapper that typically puts much weight into betting trends, but that’s precisely what I’m going to do here in my analysis. Both pitchers have strong back numbers against their opponent, and we haven’t had an OVER in this series in the last six games, and only one Over wager in the previous ten games has cashed.
