Today we have a trio of games that have caught our eye with the Baltimore at Oakland, Miami at Cincinnati and LA Angels at Seattle game all making our pick list.
Orioles at Athletics Prediction
Orioles starter Alex Cobb comes into this game off his best outing of the season recording a quality start on the road against the Angels. That may be a sign that he turned the corner after three dismal starts to begin the season, but I’m not going to bank on that. The Athletics counter with Andrew Triggs who has been in out this season and has pitched poorly in two of the last three times he’s been handed the ball. Note that the Orioles starters hold a career .417 BA against him in 12 at-bats.

Marlins at Reds Prediction
Neither team has been putting up a lot of runs in recent games, and Miami has been an UNDER bettors’ best friend going 1-7 versus the O/U line in their eight ballgames and the Reds on a three-game UNDER streak. Starting pitching can change that result, and we have a pair of starters that fit the bill having not shown that they can get the job done. The Marlins Dan Straily has just the one start this season, and he didn’t impressive allowing four runs over four innings, and he doesn’t have the back numbers against today’s line-up (.306 BA in 12 ABs) to suggest a turn around today. The Reds Brandon Flannigan has zero quality starts in four outings this season, and he brings home stats of 0-1 with a 6.28 ERA into the game.

Angels at Mariners Prediction
The Angels send out Shohei Ohtani to make his fifth start, and while he came out the gate strong with quality starts in back to back games against the Athletics, he is still raw. Ohtani struggled mightily in the preseason and may have returned to that form after two sub-par performances going two innings allowing three runs to the Red Sox and then following that up with 5 1/3 innings against the Astros getting tagged for four runs on seven hits and walking five. Mariners starter Felix Hernandez looked out of form earlier in the season but has rebounded nicely with three quality starts in his last four games. He hasn’t dominated the Angels hitters, but he does have legit stats holding the line-up to a career .242 batting average over 326 at bats. Fernandez at home getting money? Count me in.
Pick: Take the Seattle Mariners +113 BEST LINE: 5Dimes
