My regular followers know that I don’t like jumping on a team during a losing streak of more than two games, and that’s exactly what the Angels are now with last night’s game extending their streak to three straight defeats. That said, this situation is a bit different. LAA managed only two runs on four hits in the loss on Friday, but they did score 7 and 5 in losses to the White Sox. So it’s not that their bats are cold. Tonight, they send out Tyler Anderson, who has allowed three runs but zero earned across his last three starts against Arizona. Rookie Ryan Nelson hasn’t faced the Angels, and while his last start was one of his best, he does have a high WHIP of 1.45 overall and 1.53 in night games. That’s typically not the recipe for success against a team like the Angels, who have a top-five OPS. Take the Angels -116.
