PGA Tour – Cognizant Classic

Where: PGA National Members Club (Palm Beach Gardens, FL)

When: February 27th – March 2nd

Watch: NBC, ESPN+, The Golf Channel

The Florida stretch of the PGA Tour will kick off this weekend as a highly competitive field of golfers will head to the PGA National Members Club in Palm Beach Gardens, competing for the share of a prize purse valued at over 9 million dollars. Under the Cognizant Classic branding, this event only truly dates back to 2023. However, as it was formerly known as the Honda Classic, there is a much richer history that spans all the way to the early 1970s. The field will feature previous winners and also some rising stars who have already shown flashes here in 2025. This is going to be another thrilling event that may very well come down to Sunday’s final round to determine the victor.

As with any tour course in the Sunshine State, there are many hazards that the field of golfers will have to overcome in order to have success. The PGA National Members Club has water hazards galore, and there are very few holes on this track that don’t present the opportunity for a stroke penalty. Golfers will need to dial in their shots off the tee and also in their approach shots into the green. The course conditions look near perfect across all four rounds, but the natural landscape of the Florida wetlands will wreak havoc and turn small mistakes into big scores.

About the Course

  • Par: 71
  • Distance: 7167 yards
  • Nicklaus design and considered one of the most prestigious courses in the country
  • Holes 15, 16, and 17 are known as “The Bear Trap”. Surrounded by water with a very low margin for error

Who to Bet at the 2025 Cognizant Classic

Sepp Straka – To Win (+2500)

Outside of his missed cut at the Genesis Invitational, Straka has been one of the hottest golfers in the field in 2025. He won the American Express in mid-January and followed that up with a T7 at Pebble Beach and a 15th place finish at the Waste Management. His game is very well suited for all of the challenges that this course may throw his way. Straka is not going to lead the field in distance gained off the tee, but he will be at the top in terms of accuracy. In addition to his high-level driving accuracy, Straka is also one of the best in terms of his approach play. In tournaments where Sepp has had his most success, his play with his putter has been otherworldly. He is not as consistent in that phase of his game, but I like his chances to leave himself with makable putts and avoid the daunting water hazards.

Lucas Glover – Top 10 Finish (+450) and Top 20 Finish (+180)

A bit of a double play here as I am taking Lucas Glover both Top 10 and Top 20. Similar to Sepp Straka, Glover has above-average driving accuracy and approach play, which will keep his ball safe from the many water hazards. His T3 at Pebble Beach shows that his game is in good form early in the season, but he will need to find consistent play with both his putter and his play around the green. I think that a top-20 finish is a very safe play, but I love the value of a top-10 finish as well. This one could be a big payout.

Brian Harman – Top 10 Finish (+450)

I am going to ride the hot hand with Brian Harman this weekend as he is coming off of back-to-back top 25 finishes in his last two events. Harman’s game is very well-rounded, and unlike the other two golfers I’m backing, his putting has been more consistent. Harman may not be as accurate as some other members of the field and may end up in dangerous situations, but it shouldn’t be a result of his drives. If he can leave himself in safe locations for his second and third shots, he will avoid any really disastrous scores. I expect Harman to stick around in the pack across the first two rounds and make his push for contention come Saturday and Sunday.
