HIDEKI MATSUYAMA 22/1 TO WIN OUTRIGHT & 4/1 TOP 5 FINISH - Can't seem to stay away from Hideki.....and by now you have to realize that I am a huge Hideki fan! The Muirfield Village winner has a liking to similar types of courses and Quail Hollow fits the bill. He co-led The Players after 18 holes and finished T17th for his sixth straight Top 25 finish this year. Ranks 3rd in ball striking, 10th in adjusted scoring, 8th in GIR, 3rd in strokes gained tee-to-green and 3rd in total driving. This course suits his game.....
JIM FURYK 4/1 TOP 5 FINISH - I would have to be crazy not to even put a small play on the all-time earnings leader at Quail Hollow and you would be too! He was runner-up here in 2014 when he led the field in scrambling and par 3 scoring. Furyk also owns a pair of 4th place finishes here, so the course suits him nicely. He's made 8/9 cuts on the season, has a win---RBC Heritage---, three Top10s and 5 Top 25s.
BILL HAAS 5/1 TOP 5 FINISH - It's almost a home game for the Wake Forest grad! And, did you see his back nine last week at TPC Sawgrass where he shot a 32 with four birdies and give pars that propelled him to a quiet T4th! Last week he averaged 71% in driving accuracy, 72% in GIR, his average drive distance was 287 yards---which bodes well for Quail Hollow because J.B. Holmes proved last year that big hitters could win here---and played the par 5s in -8 for the week. He has earned two Top5s here and was within one shot of joining the playoff at The Players so he's in good form.
J.B. HOLMES 5/1 TOP 5 FINISH - He's the defending champion here, won in a playoff this season at the Shell Houston, has two runner-up finishes at the WGC Cadillac and Farmers Insurance in the last three months. He's 3rd in driving distance and 9th in strokes gained tee to green so it's worth a shot to see him near the top of the leaderboard at Quail Hollow again.
SHAWN STEFANI 14/1 TOP 5 FINISH - His golf skills are pretty balanced and Quail Hollow will make you use all of your talents! He's a long ball hitter ala. J.B. Holmes style, T39th in scoring opportunities, 29th in converting par breakers, T19th in par 5 scoring, 16th in adjusted scoring and 7th all-around. It's his third trip to Quail Hollow and he did not miss a cut in the first two chances so he knows the course and has played well enough to get to the weekend. If you are interested, he's a 150/1 shot to win outright.
