    JoePa's HP BYRON NELSON Picks

    JOEPA'S UPDATED YTD
    UNITS: +24.50

Two E.W. winners last week and the big wish I have this week was that Ben Curtis would be in the field but alas, he is not! Don't really like the card as nobody really stands out but the show must go on.

CARL PETTERSSON 11/2 E.W. - Like his momentum coming into this week as he was the sole player in the field at The Players last week with sub 70 scores on the weekend going 69/69 along with a bogey free Saturday. He ranks 49th on tour in ball striking, 12th in strokes gained putting, 22nd in bogey avoidance, 10th in scoring average, 45th in GIR, 27th in driving distance and 1st in par 4 birdie or better. He was a winner at the RBC Heritage, has two 2nds at the Shell Houston and Sony Open and 4 Top 10s. He T4th in 2008 here. Recent form is good.

JEFF OVERTON 8/1 E.W. - His course form at the Byron Nelson has been great with a T2nd in 2010 and a T8th in 2011 when he ranked inside the Top 25 in all stats here. He ranks 24th on tour in birdie average, 35th in birdies or better on par 4s, 32nd in bogey avoidance, 37th in scoring average and 27th in par breakers. He's made 10 of 13 cuts this season, but missed the cut at The Players last week with an opening round 78 but followed that up with a second round comeback 69. He does have 2 Top 10s---T4th at the Shell Houston and T5th at The Transitions and a total of 5 Top 25s. Recent form not great but his course form here might be the impetus he needs for the rest of the season.

BLAKE ADAMS 16/1 E.W. – Course form = T2nd in 2010 where he shared the lead after the first two rounds, Recent form = T12th at The Players where he finished better than any non-winner on tour and was T8th in fairways, T21st in GIR and 4th in strokes gained putting at TPC Sawgrass. Stat wise he's kind of middle of the road ranked 44th in total driving, 22nd in strokes gained putting and 45th in scrambling. He's also an 80/1 shot to win the darned thing outright if you are game!

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN 22/1 TO WIN OUTRIGHT & 9/2 E.W. – Steady Eddy unbelievably missed the cut last week at The Players, but at a course he's had trouble on before. So let's harken back to April 1, 8 & 15 this season when he was a collective -41 under par when he finished 3rd at the Shell Houston (-14), finished 2nd at The Masters (-10) and won the Malaysian Open (-17) on the Euro Tour where he also has a 7th at the Volvo and a 17th at the WGC Accenture. His stats really rock as well making 6/7 cuts, he's 15th in GIR, 37th in driving percentage, 11th in birdie average, 16th in scoring average, 5th in total driving, 14th par breakers, 14th in birdie or better average, 27th in par 4 birdies or better and 20th in par 5 birdies or better. Louis, Louis.....
