    2011 Honda Classic

1st Round Matchups : Just a few thoughts on a great Match Play rounds last week. Luke Donald looks pretty strong as the rest of the European field. I look for quite a few to be very competitive when the Masters comes around. From the desert to the beach, Palm Beach that is. Lot of the Europeans staying here and playing again. First play that jumps out is Louie Oosthuizen, the defending British Open champion in my mind was a total fluke. He may at one point in time win a Jackass Open but that'd be it. He's paired up Thursday with Ernie. The Big Easy started off the year with 3 tourneys so far making all the cuts with a scoring average of 69.93. I like him out the shoot this week.

    Els -140 over Oosthuizen....................1 unit.

    McDowell -125 over Fowler.................1 unit.

    Allenby -140 over Sabbatini................1 unit.

    Poulter -115 over Karlsson..................1 unit.

1-1-2 yesterday as high winds kept the early rounds over par. Tough day for Poulter going 4 over as the winds really affected him. The guy to put plays on this year is Villegas, the Honda defending champion. Hard to believe he was capable of winning a tournament. He shot 9 over par yesterday in just a brutal round, weather and his play. The guys game is off and I'll be putting plays against him most of the year. Today's play in yet another breezy round, I'll take that in consideration:

    Allenby -135 over Sabatini.........................1 unit.

    McDowell -140 over Fowler.........................1 unit.

    Kim -105 over Appleby..............................1 unit.

    Poulter +100 over Karlsson.........................1 unit.

64 by Sabatini, never saw that coming, especially all of the fans watching. Pretty damn impressive since most of the field shot in the 70's yet again on another windy day. Today will be about the same, warm and breezy.
Just a hunch in this one. Kenny Perry has another head to head against Davis Love. Both are totaled at 143 with Perry having the worst of the 2 in the second round. Davis has always faded over the years in the third and final rounds while the Senior Tour great Perry just keeps plugging away. Can't see him getting 4 bogeys and a double this round.

      Perry -115 over Love.........................1 unit.

      Levin +130 over Westwood.................1 unit.

      Gainey -105 over Barnes...................1 unit.

      Schwartzel -140 over Sabbatini.............1 unit.
