I think they'd much prefer to upgrade their D through trades. They have so many blue chip prospects on the blueline as it is...Smid, Grebeshkov, Gilbert, etc.

about the Flyers moves....

personally I like Timonen I think he is going to be a great fit, and a solid defensemen is what the Flyers needed and it will take some pressure of off Pitkanen, I really dont know that much about the other guy, because honestly I didnt follow NHL as much last season due to the Flyers debacle of a season but I think they are making strides in the right direction and from what I have been reading and listening into the Flyers are about to make a big move for Gomez...I just hope they dont go nuts overpaying for him..

Where do u guys see Briere going? I liked him a lot I was hoping he'd come to Philly but it appears the FLyers are set on Gomez

Oilers don't get a chance to take Alzner....take Gagner a little early IMO. Rangers get that russian real late, and some people think he's the best talent in the whole draft...wow. Pittsburgh ads another top offensive talent in Esposito who dropped bigtime as well. Wow.

Actually Rangers got the "steal".....top 4 talent at 17!
Pens did good to get Espo...but most pundits had him 10-15...so not that crazy. Surprised the Habs passed on him...

JML i was watching hockey central wen kiprious(sp?) said that the leafs picked up Toskola for 3 picks.

As the deal came too i liked it more and more every second. Now alot of people were calling in saying we need goalscoring not another goalie. Wat pisses me off the most is there the same people saying Raycroft sucks. Some people should not be aloud to speak ther opinion.

For one the Leafs offense was fine even wen Mats struggle others scored. Now there defense was fine yeah they made mistakes but noone scored in there own net like philips lol now did they.

Next Raycroft was not bad but at the same time wasnt good anough to play 70 games. At around 30-45 games he will be fine. We needed someone to come in when Raycroft struggled and we didnt have that.

Toskola will be great splitting with Raycroft or starting infront of CUJO. Bell makes this trade even better. They got there 2nd or 3rd line player and now only need a 1st liner to complete there goal of acquiring a 1st liner, 2nd or 3rd liner and upgrading the goalie position.

I figure the lines to be something like this:
Poni - Sundin - Antropov
Tucker - Wellwood - __UFA__
Bell - Stajan - Steen
Kilger - Pohl - Devereaux

I cant see them spliting up Poni Sundin Antropov since they were so dominting in the offensive end.

Pens just re-signed Ryan Whitney to 6 years $24 million. And rumblings out of the 'Burgh are that the Pens are close to inking Paul Kariya to a 3 year deal.

I like the Rafalski signing, but it seems the NHL is turning to the pre strike league where players are getting boat loads of money....ala Bobby Holik 8 mil a year lol....Looks bleak here in Buffalo as were gonna lose Drury most likely as well....:bang:
