nice cardiac start to the season last night as CAL tries to blow leads of 3-0 and 4-1 but manages to hang on........tough to get a read as i said this early in the year. Lots of players changed teams and the chemistry isn't there yet i don't think in a lot of cases.
CAR -110 (sportsbook.com).................PHI owns CAR and owns CAR in CAR going 7-0-1 in their last 8 trips there. PHI lost some key guys in Knuble and Lupol who had chemistry with their respective lines, and i don't think that can be glanced over when the season starts (for any team that lost guys). Briere back in the mix after missing most of last year now along with a couple of rookies and some different line combinations. PP units will be different this year too. PHI is a historically slow starting team and i think it will take them a couple weeks to find their stride. Not sold on Emery on net either despite the good PS numbers. CAR on the other hand comes back virtually the same team as last year that finished on such a strong note. Top 9 forwards all back together and playing the same roles basically. Only question is can Cole continue the play he found again when reunited with Staal and can Rutuu pick up where he left off last year. Based on the chemistry CAR brings forward and PHI IMO taking a little while to gel, i will back CAR at home. And they have to know how PHI has owned them which hopefully will give them a little extra focus.
GL to everyone!
