allan, when he says units it means how much he is betting, for example 1 unit = 25 bucks for me, it might be 100 for BB, so in case he does 1 unit=100 dollars, his 5-1, +5.89 units means he is up 589 bucks
what does "5-1 +5.89 units" mean? i know what units are but what are you betting on? sorry for my lack of knowledge
I have a 5-1 record....
2* plays (2 units) I am 2-0
1* 3-1
I (unlike most) bet by the unit even with juice, ie. if I say one unit an the line is -110, I bet one unit. If I lose, I lose 1 unit, if I win, in that case, I would win .91 units. Most people say that they bet 1.1 units to win 1 in a -110 line. I think it is more consistent to judge a play based on what you lose, not win, but I am in the minority.
If the line is +120 and I win, I win +1.20 units...if lose, minus one unit.
I do this more for fun than to win money so my units are reasonable. Usually 20 bucks.[/
