    Diamond Dave's 2011 NFL Picks

Hello all! Are you ready for another year of NFL football? I am excited to get started and am thrilled to have found this forum. Although new to the Predictem family, I am not new to sports betting and am looking forward to a very profitable year.

Let's start it off right with a Thursday Night pick!

New Orleans +4.5 over Green Bay (1 unit) 9/8/11

I will be back later in the week for my Sunday picks!

Interesting selections... why take the overs on four defenses that can lock down at any time?
      NFL 17: 45-47-2 // 48.91% // -10.12
      MMA: 247-332-2 // 42.66% // -6.04
      MLB 17: 151-140-8 // 51.89% // +5.65 ROR // +42.13
      NCAAF 17: 63-49-2 // 56.25% // +6.80

Well, my take on this is that early in the season, offenses (for the most part) are clicking and are "ahead" of defenses. Couple that with a short off-season and you have a perfect storm for "Overs". Baltimore's Ray Rice and Bolden are two that I see having a huge season this year. In Atlanta, I like Roddy White and Turner to turn up the heat and until Vegas catches on, anything in the low 40's are sure to go over each week. That is just my take. GL on whatever you play.

Thanks, I appreciate that. May need it with Oakland, but I just have a gut feeling that McFadden is going to have a huge night and keep it close if not win this game outright against Denver. Not really worried about New England covering, but you never know in a division rivalry game which is why I teased it instead of going against the spread. I would at least like to see Miami play in a meaningful game before I discount them totally.

I think this game stays close. Both teams will want to run the ball, especially Oakland with Kevin Boss out tonight. They've wanted to feature him a lot. I'd expect more of the same out of Denver and John Fox giving a heavy dose of the run as well.

                  Looking at the under here.

As I had stated in other posts, it was a big first week for NFL offenses and MNF was no exception. Cashed in on the 3-team teaser last night as New England rolled early and often in the first of two games. In the second game, as predicted, McFadden had a great night (22 rushes 150 yards) as Oakland won outright as 3 point dogs.

                    3-1-0

I have an early line pick for those stout at heart:

Cleveland Browns -2.5 at Indianapolis (2 units)

Angle on this game is that the Browns are 8-1 away after Bengals, 6-1 away vs. .250<opponent and they are 5-1 last six games as the road favorite. Besides that, Indy showed us NOTHING in week 1 with Kerry Collins in as QB. Due to the Brown's loss to Cincy at home in week one, the line is lower than it would have been otherwise. I see the Brown's winning this one by at least a FG on the road. GL to all!

For some reason my post was cut off so here is my angle to my week 2 pick:

Cleveland -2.5 at Indy (2 units)

                      1) Cleveland is 8-1 on the road after playing the Bengals
                      2) Cleveland is 5-1 in their last six games as road favorites
                      3) Cleveland is 6-1 on the road vs .250 < opp.

Take your pick on which angle you want, I like Cleveland here only giving up 2.5 points in the early line. GL!

                        ADDING for Sunday:

Carolina +11.5 over Green Bay (-110) for 3 units

I like the situation that Carolina is in and the play of Cam Newton against the banged up defense of Green Bay. My calculations show a strong possibility that Green Bay wins this game by LESS THAN 9 points. GL on Sunday guys!:beerbang:
