Way too much offense for me to consider an under. IMO Steelers defense can be exploited with the passing game, hello GB. Steelers offense should be able to create much more scoring opportunities than the Bears could. Already got down on o45 for 5 units.

havent thought about the totals yet, but i do like pitt in the game. i think their defense is up to the challenge of rodgers and gb. even though gb has a very good defense also big ben has aknack of extending plays and is hard to bring down. if pouncey doesnt play it could make a difference but i dont think so. pitt has been here before and gb hasnt. that should be the difference.

If Pouncey is out for Pitt, a very definite under 46 for me. I really am leaning strongly towards GB -2 1/2 also.

I'm interested on why the starting center for Pitt is your deciding factor for going with the under.

I think anytime the C or LT is out, it's significant

but seeing as Pitt's O-line is the weak link of their overall solid team... and Pouncey (pro bowler) was considered their best linemen is a concern for me. At least spread-wise, I have no constructive opinion on the total.

C Jeff Saturday wasn't right (health) all season and I think Manning and the offense overall suffered a bit as a result of it, notwithstanding the porous D they had too lol

Roethlisberger's used to being on the run and throws well in scramble, but the center being out could favor GB

man I dunno, ESPN is up their butt and can't confirm anything.

                They report

                a) torn ligaments in ankle
                b) broken ankle

I understand the Steelers are being secretive but geezus ESPN, if you don't know, don't pretend and beat around the bush! :bang:

I'm guessing he's gonna be out. In crutches during the game is not a good sign, and he's missed practice this week. I know people like to use the SB extra week to heal a la T.O. or Dwight Freeney, but way different situation

Even if Pouncey plays, he won't be the same.

He won't be as quick on his reach blocks to the backside, won't be able to slide off double teams to the second level as fast, little to no pull blocks on counters and screens, and I won't even go into the physics of his loss of leverage and strength on that leg.

Plus, his game was speed and leverage, not just brute strength and mauling people.

I think its a huge loss. BJ Raji is tough to block anyway, even when Pouncey is healthy.

Nice discussion on Pouncey, not a Steelers follower. Had no idea he was so much to the team. Nice explanations:thumbs:

Good info on Pouncey. Sounds like he wont play.

Really torn on this game as I cna see it going either way.

The Packers will be using Pouncey's absence to their advantage for sure. I'm sure it will give more opportunity for certain blitz packages and what not. He was also great at opening holes up for Mendenhall. This could be a significant advantage to the GB defense.

The latest on Puoncey si this...

Off crutches but has protective boot on still. Still hoping to play he says.

I think he dopes up, gets a shot or 4 and plays.
