    JoePa's NFL Week #5

    JOEPA'S UPDATED YTD: 7 - 5
    UNITS: +1.50
    10/3: 4 - 2

Just got back from a great 25 miles bike trek! Tired as hell and ready for some football.....here goes:

CLEVELAND +3 vs. Atlanta - LOSS
Partly because Lang is on the Falcons, but also because the Browns have led in the fourth quarter of all their games this year and didn't blow it last week. Gotta love the pounding of Hillis and the moving pocket with Wallace. Last week the defensive secondary didn't get burned and this week they should have another awakening against a team whose best passing output on the season came last week (259yds) in a lucky win at home vs. San Francisco.

OAKLAND +7 vs. San Diego - WINNER
The Raiders have been in every game this season....now that's something they haven't been able to say for a while! And, they are 2-1 at home. Could have been 3-0 at home but three giveaways vs. the Texans last week did them in even though they only lost by a TD. The Chargers have lost all three of their road games scoring and average of just 16 pts. in those games and are -5 in turnovers in those away contests. I think the Raiders may take this game SU and like I said just two weeks ago, look for the Silver and Black to be at minimum a .500 team at home this season.

SAN FRANCISCO -3 vs. Philadelphia -
Eagles fans had best not get their hopes up.....it's going to be a rough in Philly without Michael Vick. Like him or not, the Eagles lost one of the most dynamic players in the NFL and are relegated to using king of the check downs Kevin Kolb. DeSean Jackson might as well be the invisible man because you won’t find him catching any passes tonight. The 49ers have waited a month to get a win and are playing decent football and should have won last week. Opportunity knocks!

    SAINT LOUIS +3 @ Detroit - LOSS
Neither teams has a lot going for them except that the Rams are 3-2! Bradford has finally gotten un-tracked and the Lions have put up some good offensive numbers with over 430+ yard of offense in 2 of the last 3 weeks. Both are "domers" so I see no advantage there, but STL has the better defensive numbers. In the series last four meetings the Rams are 3-1 SU and in October vs. opponents with a less than .500 record they are 22-5. Detroit is 0-10 SU in game five of the season and just 1-7 in their last 8 vs. an NFC West opponent. Partly a play on Bradford and partly a play against Detroit and the trends.

    DENVER +8 @ Baltimore - LOSS
Have you seen the offensive passing numbers put up by the Broncos this season......340 yards passing per game! Have you seen the list of "probable" and "questionable" players for the Ravens this week.....11 and 6 of them are defensive players, and did you know that they are 1-5 SU after playing the Steelers. The Ravens can't run the ball, well, neither have the Broncos, but the Ravens are very one dimensional in passing in the games I have seen. It seems like Anquan Boldin or famine. I know the Ravens rely on their defense, but their D unit has to mop up after the offense which is -8 in turnovers on the season. Boy does that put pressure on the defense, just like the Broncos passing attack did against Indy, Minney and Tennessee and will today.

    OVEN MITT YTD: 1 - 2
    10/3: 0 - 1

    "DEFINITELY"
KANSAS CITY +8 @ Indianapolis LOSS

    GL to ya! :beerbang:
