Week Four: 4-2, +7.2 units
YTD: 11-12-1, -4.4 units
Week Five:
Buffalo Bills +2
Green Bay Packers -2.5
Houston Texans -3
New Orleans Saints -7.5
All for four units a piece.
I have a great line from my bookie on the JAX/BUF as most outfits have the Bills as 1-3 pt favorites. I'll take the two points as a dog. Fitzgerald airs it out against a weak Jacksonville secondary, and the Buffalo RB picture is a bit clear and will get a boost from Jacksonville's 29th ranked rush-defense..
I like the Packers to bounce back this week after a close call last week. I think the Packers line is skewed a bit from last week's results against Detroit and the loss of Nick Barnett - without the former, I have the Pack at around a 5 pt favorite. Looks like Bulaga will start at LT, and he's the more talented player vs Chad Clifton. The Packers OL will have a reprieve as they won't have to worry where Haynesworth is. Fat Albert looked a shade of his former self this week, but with the death of his half-brother, he'll take Sunday off.
The Texans get Cushing back, his task will be to stop Bradshaw and the Giants fifth-ranked rushing attack. And wow is this guy a physical freak. Looks like both Andre Johnson and Mario Williams are expected to play. Rashad Butler is filling in nicely for Duane Brown, and Schaub did not get sacked last week at Oakland.
I am questioning the late-game pick of the Saints, but give me a head-hunting secondary against a Mormon. Brees is fourth in the league in passing, and is facing a secondary giving up 29.5 ppg and 388 ypg. With Early Doucet and Steve Breaston both out, the Saints defense will be keying on Fitzgerald. Look for Gregg Williams to blitz and change schemes constantly to try to confuse the 25-year-old rookie.
