Pats always seem to be fleecing other teams of picks. They originally got Moss for a 4th rounder, now he is 33 and they get a 3rd for him. True, he is an elite vertical threat...but the Pats have Welker and Hernandez so they should be fine. Vikings IMHO should lock up Sidney Rice- last thing they need is another aging vet. Although I do respect that they're going all-in to win the SB.

High number for an NFL total (might be one of the highest so far) but the NYG have some injuries and aren't good IMO anyway on D. HOU is nothing special. I would like to know if Andre Johnson is playing this week for HOU first....that helps..

That is how they stay on top. As much as I hate them they are a very smart organization. The Bills on the other hand...

I like the Falcons this week @ Cleveland. Should have pulled the trigger on the Browns last week, but I think they get owned this week. Falcons should be able to run the ball well, and wow how bad is Cleveland's pass D. Atlanta was in a tough spot last week playing a hungry winless SF team off beating the SB champs, and still managed to win.

How good can you really say the Chargers defense is? Oakland has a nice balanced attack, and should be able to run the ball effectively. At the same time, how good is the Raiders d? 38 allowed @ten, and the only good balanced offense they faced was Houston last week who shredded them. Chargers should be able to run the ball of course, but I think this line is way inflated because of SD blowout win.

just saw that arizona is starting max hall at qb which has to eliminate them as a home dog consideration imo.

why? It's not like Anderson was getting the job done. 5 ints in the last 3 games, can Hall play that much worse. Zona ran into a buzz saw last week in a terrible spot, having won on a last second missed fg the week previous and going on the road to face a Chargers team that was off a loss. How good is this Saints team? 5 pt win vs Minny, 3 pt win @SF, loss vs ATL and a 2 pt win @ home vs the Panthers. Clausen was 11-21 with 146 and 1 td, Carolina had 118 rushing and they nearly won. I certainly think even Max Hall is capable of throwing for 140+ with no turnovers. How do the Saints deserve to be 7+ pt road faves? Beanie Wells/Hightower will have to have big games, but at this point I don't see how you could be comfortable backing this Saints team until they protect the ball and make stops...

And there is that angle of a player making his first start @ qb, that has turned a profit. Fwiw I'm on the Cards as I think this is another inflated line.

The public is going to be all over the Saints too.

As bad as Arizona has played, I still don't think the Saints are a 7 point road Fav.

But also, I was all over the Bills last week and we all saw what the jets did to them as road favs.

I honestly think the winner is in the 30's and this is no more than a 10 point game so the Over is my way of going, but that's just me. If the winner gets to 31 points, you're telling me the loser only gets 13 or 14.....can't see that happening. Other thing is that both teams have above average kickers which helps, though, jaworski for the raiders has missed a couple key kicks this year. Nothing worse than having an over and seeing points left on the field with missed short FG's....:bang:

That is how a majority of my NFL overs flame out. That and injuries (see Skins/Eagles game last week). Missed fgs are always killer- unless you are on the under. I do think that it's probable the winner gets 30+/it's a 10 pt or closer game, but I do like the Raiders as well. I just don't think the Chargers are going to shut anyone down on the road, let alone an offense like the Raiders that has proven they can score. I can't believe my fingers just typed that:laughing:

After further review, I don't think I can play a side in Falcons/Browns game. ATL squeaked by Niners at home and it's a possible letdown for Brownies, but there's just not enough for me to go against the homedog here.

Leaning very hard on Colts-7. Maybe KC has a good run game, but they have a pretty sad passing offense. 62 passing yards vs SD and 172 vs the Browns- that won't get you a win in Indy. I think Moeaki may be the best option in the passing game. Indy stacks the box and makes Cassel beat them. The Colts off a last second road loss, I think Peyton carves this defense up. I do think KC D is improved, but they have faced SD (who moved the ball but couldn't punch the ball in), Cleveland and SF. This is their first road game facing an elite passing offense.... Indy 1sth also an option as I think they jump ahead early and never trail.

Thoughts on the game tonight? I want to back the Jets but something tells me take the Viqueens. I don't know how much this Moss trade will improve them but something seems like for as badly as they've started, they will pull it together tonight. As much as I dislike Favre, it seems like this could be a game where AP manages to bust a few runs early thereby opening up for a few deep passes for Moss. With more allegations against him and a primetime audience watching, it would only seem fitting for him to have a big game and "shove it down everyone's throat." Minnesota has had an extra week to prepare while the Jets warmed up w/a JV game in Buffalo last weekend. Looking at the Minny schedule, home vs Dallas and on the road against Green Bay and New England isn't the easiest 4 game stretch around so if they don't get this one tonight, they could be in real serious trouble.
Best I've been able to come up w/thus far for tonight is a 6 pt teaser w/Minny +10.5 and OVER 33 ...

I think you have great odds with that teaser... but I'm taking the Jets -3 in this one. I don't think Favre and Moss will click just yet, the Jets D can stop the run and they get Santonio Holmes back.
