Carolina +6.5 (loss)
I think they win this game straight up. Their offensive line is underrated and they should be able to run the ball very well if they can stay healthy. Matt Moore is underrated as well.
Houston +2 (win)
I absolutely hate betting against Peyton Manning as he always seems to stick a fork in my eyeball, but I believe Houston is the better team here. Getting points and it being the home opener. Yum. It doesn't hurt that Hou is only getting 30% of the action and the line still dropped from -3 down to -2.
Chicago -6.5 (loss)
This is more of an anti-Detroit play than anything else. I do believe they'll be improved this season and even forecast them to win 6 or 7 games, but I think that comes later in the season and with most of those wins coming at home. I might be giving too much weight to some power ratings I was reading that made a case for the Bears being 14 points better than Det.
Arizona -4.5 (loss)
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Derek Anderson behind a line that will give him time to pass. Don't judge him based on his Browns career. That OL sucked. STL will have to respect the run and he'll be able to go down field at will vs. the Rams. You gotta love going against the rookie QB in his first game as well. Butterflies? Uh, YEAH. I think Arizona wins this one on the road by 10.
Kansas City +4.5 (win)
I've heard more than once that SD has some offensive line issues. The public is hammering the heck out of the Chargers yet the line has gone from 5.5 down to 4.5. The Chiefs should be much improved and be able to run against SD as well. +4.5 covers 2 key numbers (3 and 4) which is big. Gimme those points at home, on Monday night football in a team's home opener. I'm calling for the Chiefs to win straight up!
Good luck to all!
Good to see some old names and faces filing in! I'm glad that we're all able to be back here for another season of fun!
