Lousy NFL teams turn sports books into losers - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

I feel like the big favs have been cashing for a few years now. This is getting annoying. Why can't vegas just put the rams out at +21. Atleast it would even some of the action. And if they cover then great. Maybe the entire world won't bet against them the next week.

Lol yea. From memory probably the only anti public teams that cashed Sunday were Dallas (ironically a favorite) and Arizona. Public was slightly on minny too but probably not enough to consider it a big public play.

Patriots, colts, saints, jets, green bay, San Diego and then Philly on mnf. Wow, must have been a bloodbath for the books, again. no idea how I actually turned a small profit in NFL this week, seeings as all I do supposedly is "blindly fade the public"

i agree......put the lines out where they should be. There is awfulness in the NFL this year like nothing i have ever seen....usually it's only a couple but there are some just horrendous teams that rival any expansion team who ever entered the league. IF you havent figured out by now how bad the Raiders, Browns etc...are where have you been.

The disparity between bad and good football teams seem to widen with every passing season. You can't throw anything nearing the 20's out there, because those lines will get teased past so many key numbers by big bettors. After last week with Minny and the Fins (I try not to get too embroiled in right side/wrong side but cmon) It's gotten so hard to play dogs.... now I'm chalkoverdog. :bang:

I think this is starting to shift...and kind of like the stock market, when everyone is talking about something, that is usually the best time to abandon that strategy.

This weekend we saw 2 average teams, not the dregs of the league like STL, CLE or TB, cover as DD dogs: SF and ATL. We're going to see teams like Indy, NE, N.O be DD favorites no matter who they play as the Public is cleaning house, and will continue to back these teams.

I also read something that said this time last year (after 7 or 8 weeks) Double Digit Dogs were 17-1 ATS.

I'd look for some reversion to the mean in the second half of the season, espeically with the "average" teams as double digit dogs. No way I back teams like STL, CLE or TB even if they are getting spreads similar to C-USA teams playing at the Flordia Gators.

In my opinion its time to start siding with the books and the big Dogs:beerbang:
its my way or the lame way.

                2016 NFL:
                straight up 14-7-1 (+10.9u)
                parlays 0-1 (-1u)
                total: +9.9u
