    Favreau to Retire

.....i don't know what's funnier, him retiring every year and everyone believing it or charlie brown thinking he is going to kick the football this time......

If he is in fact TRULY retiring, what a pathetic decision he made this past spring. He could have gone out on top in GB and really would have had a heck of a legacy. Instead he pissed off the only team he played for and then went on to have just an uninspiring awful season with the NYJ in which he threw about 400 interceptions and cost them several games down the stretch.....and to the point his teammates publicy said they wanted him benched.

He stayed a year too long and hopefully he is really done and this isn't some ploy to get out of playing for the Jets so he can reannounce he is coming back in May and land with some other team. You have to wonder if That IS the case with the way his teammates felt about his performance last year.

he lost a lot IMO by playing this year. reminded me of an old crusty has been that hung on too long.

Taking a 4-12 team to 9-7, is a bad thing? :conf:

yeah, that was all him......that fantastic TD:INT ratio...and all the games he led them from behind to win....forgot about that....oh wait.....22TD's and 23INT's including some HUGE INT's that gave games away......oh yeah, and he was such a help to his team that his teammates wanted him benched.....forgot about that too...

so yeah, i recant my remarks...he was a heck of a player and was single handedly responsible for the 5 win turnaround....my bad...

        Mangini is an overrated coach.

but Favre just ran out of gas at the end, he was just as reckless all year as he was all his overblown past the roof overrated career. He's a HoFer, a really above average QB but not as much as Madden or ESPN might prop him up as.

they WERE 8-3 at one point, but going 1-4 the rest of the way when your QB hurts you more than he helps you certainly lends him to shoulder more of that blame.

Especially seeing as noodle arm Pennington took his team to the playoffs, and Rodgers statistically did better, he was essentially in his rookie year playing, couldnt get the Pack over the hump as they lost something like 5-7 games within 3 points. Once Rodgers figures out how to lead a last minute drive IMO i think the Pack will be better off. If Favre was running the Pack last year, their record would be the same, losing 5-7 games within a TD or so with his INT ratio as FF said, and the fact Ryan Grant was a non-factor the whole year.

THe pack may have been perceived as taking a step back letting Favre go, but I think they will take 2 steps forward next season if Rodgers holds course.
