Love the Giants -6.5. Everyone's loving the Eagles after last weeks win, and with the Plax bull****. But a win at home against the travelling Cards is alot different than going into Giants Stadium and getting a win against the leagues best. Philly was a mess before that Cards win, there was almost a revolt in that city, with fire Reid this, and run McNabb out of town that...and now after one measly win in a great spot, they are going to knock off by far the best team in the league on the road? Pick a winner...I pick NY.

        Fire Reid
        Keep McNabb
        Kolb is going to blow

but... the eagles I believe are going to cover this spread, I feel that the Eagles are going to screw Eagles fans with another win and they'll end up missing the playoffs by 1 game and Lurie and everyone in the front office is going to think the Eagles are right there and force us to settle for 2 late 1st round picks and waste them, this mgmt. wants to keep a competitive, good product out there so they can bring in the fans and the $$, but this team never makes the big push to put them over the hump, when they clearly were loaded with talent and could have used a couple new pieces to truly make the eagles an elite team.... its like Andy Reid the GM and Andy Reid the coach are on 2 different planets, guy is in love with the pass, but refuses to address key positions for that (WR, TE), what pisses me off is they wont ever use their 1st round pick, but they wont give up a 2nd rounder for a great TE in Tony Gonzalez, cheap bastards....

on the game, Eagles can cover because Westbrook looked at his best last week and I know you say its the Cardinals, but he was able to make cuts and moves that he hasnt made in a while, a healthy Westbrook makes this Eagles team alot better, and this guy gives the Giants fits all the time...these games are always close too...i just think a touchdown is too many pts...

I say forget the Plaxico nonsense. I don't think anyone on the Giants really cares about him and the distractions he brings at this point.

Forget the McNabb stuff. The Philly fans have been giving McNabb/Reid **** since day 1 every time something wasn't rolling 100% smoothly. I think they can handle it by now. I really don't think any of that stuff will be any type of distraction to either team....but I would take notice that the return of a HEALTHY Westbrook brought a little....ok, well alot of life to the Philly offense.

Basically, there is 2 ways to look at the game. The Giants are the better team and are @ home, but if the Eagles lose, their season is over.

If the Giants NEEDED this game, they would be the obvious choice....but they really don't. Not saying they aren't gonna try hard, cause that would be silly to think any good team would lay down in any game, but they sure don't need the game as badly as Philly, so Philly might just have that extra bit of motivation come Sunday.

If the Eagles win, they have a very realistic shot at getting in, having all but an automatic W over dead in the water CLE @ home , then @ WSH and finishing @ home with DAL. Revenge in both of the division games, and against 2 teams they can certainly hang with. 10-5-1 is gonna be good enough, since it beats any 10-6....so the Eagles aren't out of it....yet. I've certainly seen crazier things happen than a team get healthy and win their last 5 games, and head into the playoffs on a hot streak.

This is a rivalry game too, between 2 teams that know each other well. And it is a rivalry that is known for getting a bit wild at times.

Line opened at 8, and is now 6.5 at the sharper books and 7 at the more "square" books, with around 68% on NYG. What's that saying? :dunno:

And I agree PF3 about WTF is up with Philly being so pass oriented, but refusing to get any elite players to catch those passes. Doesn't make alot of sense, does it?

Some good points...and I agree...that team goes as Westbrook goes...and they'll need him to be a force again this week (albeit against a much better defence) to have a chance...

That extra time this week should help him too...

Guess we'll see Sunday....GL guys...

The Giants have come to play every single week this year, Cleveland game notwithstanding (and they had a ton of banged up players that monday night). The amount of quality depth they have is amazing and I think they want to wrap up homefield advantage as quickly as possible.

Just look at last week. Washington was FIRED UP for that game considering the whole Sean Taylor "jersey retirement" angle. The Giants, business as usual, walk all over them in the 1st quarter.

The only negative about the Burress situation is that you lose that big body down by the goal-line. Other than that, Hixon is an absolute burner and has already shown he has tremendous hands.

As far as Philly is concerned, I still think Reid is one of the best NFL coaches between monday and saturday. That's all I have on them.

Ya know Im not as concerned with the Plaxico BS as I am with Pierce's involment. He will not be with the team tommorow but hangin with NYPD blue for a little talk.

So now you have two top level players distracted. Saw a interview with Pierce and he looked concerned and rambled on about how NOT distracted he/they, the team are with all this. I dont buy it.

Plus what Stiff said about motivation, and maybe a fieldgoal game here.

Plax had a hamstring injury so he wouldn't be involved anyways. I like the above comments and believe the Giants will blow the Eagles away.

I think Plax not playing is going to have a huge impact on this game, that guy absolutely kills the Eagles, and he has taken over many games against the same Eagles players pretty much. I expect the Eagles to try and contain Jacobs, Ward and the ground game, and force Manning to have beat them, and I feel with Burress out, Samuel, Hanson, Brown, and Sheppard should be able to contol the giants wr's.....IMH(omer)O...The Eagles are going to look to get alot of pressure and I am sure Johnson is going to have a good scheme to face the Giants....

offensively the eagles werent able to establish westrbook the first time they played, as the giants were all over him, and it made it tough for the eagles to get anything going...but I feel like McNabb is gonna play with a chip on his shoulder the latter part of the season by using his legs which can cause problems for the giants...as for Andy Reid, I HOPE he realizes that you have to establish the run before passing 67 some odd times in a game...but last week they were able to run with westbrook and that allowed mcnabb more time to connect with his recievers...There are alot of explosive special teams players in this game, and I just have the feeling its gonna be a battle down to the last play....27-24 sounds about right to me

I suppose it could be said that the giants steameolled Washington, even though the giant offense was really held decently in check for a lot of that game for the most part, and the skins lack of any real offense was more the story in that one.

Just like NE the last few reg season games last year and thru the playoffs, during which time I don't think NE covered even once, I doubt the books are gonna keep letting the public rape them every week with huge bets on NYG as they have all season.

This line is inflated towards Philly guys....and while not every inflated line ends up covering, continually defying the oddamakers and playing lines that are not in your favor is just not going to lead to profits.
