The Knicks have no depth behind Amare/Chandler up front. Josh Harrelson/Jared Jeffries/Jerome Jordan/Steve Novak, really? Chandler's foul trouble really hurt them.
Memphis' losing Darrell Arthur hurts them a lot too. Big blow to their depth chart. One of their strengths last season was all around depth and strong bench play. They overcame Rudy Gay's injury to make the playoff run. Tonight their starting unit seemed to hold its own against OKC, but their bench was unproductive. Arthur was a productive body in the frontcourt. Dante Cunningham won't be able to replicate his production.
The Hornets could be sneaky good this year. They're playing great defense and have a lot of depth.
Denver also looks like a legitimate playoff team. They started to gel after the Carmelo trade last season and they've picked up where they left off.
The Suns' high scoring days are in the rear view mirror. They haven't topped 84 points in either of their first two games (both losses). Other than Nash, they really don't have anyone who can hit threes.
Those are mental notes that I wanted to share and hopefully hear some other people's thoughts (agree/disagree/etc) and get some conversation going about the young season.
