I like the Jazz against the Warriors. Didn't you hit a parlay in the 1stRd for $1000?

Udoggiedog- i got wrapped up in the NHL game and didn't end up making the play (plus never got any confirmation from you). I was really surprised that the Spurs could win a game in Phoenix played at the Suns' pace. I kind of thought that San Antonio had to keep the games in the 90's to win. But when you let Parker and Duncan go for almost 70 between the 2 of them, you don't have much of a chance. Interesting because i don't think the Spurs get enough credit for their offense and the Suns don't get enough credit for their defense (though it lacked today). Should be a 7 gamer, IMO.

you got it right FF, Suns have always been labeled as all Offense, but their Defense is prolly the best its been since Nash has come over, its not a top-tier defense mind you, but aside from todays game, they have had a respectable defense all year.

as for San Antonio, they are old like everyone always said, but its not like they are 300 lb fatasses dragging their love handles up and down the court, the Spurs live and die by their Defense, as for their offense, they really dont have a true identity, they basically are chameleons and change their gameplan as the game unfolds.... they can run with the best of them, as Parker is one of the fastest if not the fastest players in the league, and well before Ginobili looked like he lost a step this year, he was up there with Parker in terms of speed, but he's not slouch this year either, just that Ive seen him faster.

and when they dont want to run, they can settle into those slow halfcourt games, and just pick and roll or feed the ball to Duncan on the high post and let him pass.

truthfully even as a Spurs fan, I know they have no star power, with a boring Robot whinyass PF, and when their biggest star on the team is the PG's girlfriend, but playing in a small market and what not, any true basketball fan will attest that they would enjoy watching this team play.

for ball movement and good ol fashioned offense I love watching the Suns, for all around/jack of all trades, I take the Spurs.

just hope its not a Spurs/Pistons series again :bang: that WOULD be boring....AGAIN. LOL

you know what is amazing is that in Horry's 15 year NBA career he has only averaged over 10 points 3 times and the most he ever averaged was 12+, yet he is like a playoff legend........i agree with SAN having no identity, but i think that is their identity....lol.....BTW, who is the Euro with the horrible butt cut (think he is #7) for San Antonio...wow is that a bad lid...looks like fabio....

            LOL

fabio...close enough, fabricio oberto...sounds like a male model more than bball player huh?

oddly enough, couple years ago, from that Argentina Team that lit up the World Championships (and lit us up too), there were two other players other than Ginobili who were supposed badasses, I think the spurs had the rights to both of them.

they had a swingman who was supposed to be the next Peja only with more D and better athleticism. he demanded too much money so they settled on this guy Oberto, who looks more like he should be on the cover of a bad romance novel than playing bball LOL.

what do you think of any of the series plays?

              Detroit (-300)/Chicago (+260)
              GState (+120)/Utah -140

              Spurs -185/Suns -160
              Cleveland -360/Nets +300
              Overall Records

Each play is to win the # of units posted unless it's a dog then I'm betting that amount.

FF, Q- yeah tough loss for the Suns, though I have to give it to the Spurs...they are in playoff form, & not messing around. Parker has always played well vs the Suns, but Duncan was a beast yesterday...they have those role players that can step up & hit the big shot (Horry, Finley...), & they can score (contrary to popular belief). IMO they will look to slow it down a bit more at home- I agree this series will likely go the distance...

I too do not want a Spurs/Pistons finals

                Pistons-255
                Suns-230

                $800 to win $798

                Jazz -4-102

                3 units

                Utah/GS o207.5

                Stones team o93

                AK47 pts,ass,rbs,blks o14.5-120

                2 units each

I like the Pistons to cover as well, but a ML parlay with Stones/Suns pays pretty much 1 to 1, so I don't have to worry about the cover (IMO it's a pretty strong play). Bulls game 3 will likely be the play after that... I have to think the Bulls come out with a much better shooting performance than game 1, so I do lean to the o181, still deciding what to do there- edit added Pistons team o93. There may be value in the 2ndh

I'm sure there are many ready to hit that Warriors+4/ ML, but this was a home team dominated series in the regular season- the Jazz are shooting very well, & should have a bit of swagger back after that game 7 win on the road. Utah matches up well with the Warriors, as Deron should be able to drive/create, Okur can hit the mid-range shot & Utah as a team is pretty solid rebounding. Playing the AK prop, as he has gome over this number in the last 2 home games, & could easily grab 10 boards alone tonight- IMO he's playing like he has something to prove, & well, he does. Of course the biggest advantage Utah has is Boozer, who in case anyone hasn't noticed, has been taking over games....I have difficulty believing that the Barnes/Pietrus stop him. I'm thinking GS could have problems early containing Boozer- if you collapse on him, Okur will be left with open looks, but like I said IMO no 1 player for GS matches up well with him... Utah can score right along with GS, though I'm not sure they will want to be running the whole series. I was hoping this line came out a little shorter (as I do think it could be close), but I'm playing it anyway...two teams coming in shooting lights out- thinking the Jazz win 110-103.

Was considering Bulls-3/team total, but figured if they cover the -3, they do so because they are scoring. If they score, so does Detroit

What a game! AK prop was about as easy as it could get, they're usually a lot closer than that. 4-1-1 +$700, with Suns ML @ even money now...

                          Thoughts on Tuesday.....

Cavs/Nets- In game 1 we had some pretty horrible shooting performances- NJ shot 37%, & were 5-20 from 3pt land. The big surprise for me was Kidd going 2-11 for 7 pts. He only took 1 trip to the line- IMO we'll see a lot more of Kidd driving in the lane to a. score off layups/get to the line, b. create open looks for Jefferson/Vince. The Cavs also only shot 40%, & were 5-17 from 3 pt land... IMO this will still be a slower paced game, as the Nets seem content to slow things down this series. Last series vs Toronto they had an advantage looking for the quick outlet. However, when you are outrebounded 51-37 it's tough to get into the transition game. A huge stat for me is the Nets had 9 offensive rebounds, & the Cavs had 20! You simply can't win when the other team has that many second chances. It also kills over plays, as the Cavs can kick it back out, reset & wear down the Nets....with a total of 180.5, it's easy to think an over may be in order, but I can't consider it given the Cavs rebounding performance game 1. The Nets were able to take early leads on the Raptors by pushing the ball, & that was eliminated in game 1. With a total of 154 game 1, it's hard to imagine 28 more pts showing up on the scoreboard. Lean to the under, but it could be close, so I'm laying off the total for now....I do think the Cavs will be leading at halftime, hence the 1sth play.

Suns/Spurs- Game 1 was pretty much how I expected total-wise, with both teams scoring....I expected Parker to put up big numbers, but Duncan took that game over. 33 pts, 16 boards (including 8 offensive). Is there a more dominant big man in the game right now? The Suns have to find a way to slow him down...they will be starting Kurt Thomas over Jones in an attempt to slow Duncan down. That should free Amare for sopme more open looks (though he had 20 pts/18 boards, he was only 6-19 from the field). The Spurs shot an incredible 50% 44% from 3pt, & outrebounded the Suns 49-35. Phx needs to hit the defensive glass much better tonight to win, as 2nd chance pts killed them game 1.

Duncan "We'd rather play in the 90's, we'd rather play in the 80's.....that's our type of game, but we've got a lot of guys shooting really well"

Tough to play an under in a Suns game at all, but even tougher when they are facing a team who has the ability to shoot at a high %. The Spurs under 100 is getting a look from me, but again the Suns need a much better reboiunding performance for that to win. I do think Nash & co will come out scoring, so I'm playing the 1stq hoping they get a nice jump

                          Suns-1.5 1stq

                          Cavs-2.5 1sth

                          2 units each

Will be looking into Amare props, as Kurt starting should provide him with a little wiggle room....still debating a total play, but I'm leaning to the under or SA team under. Could very well be another close game, & with 8 units on the Suns ML, I'm inclined to hedge a little on the Spurs+5....hoping to see a hook out there.....

Really like the Parker prop (@ 5dimes). Don't usually like the player vs. player props, but this is one that would have been a winner in every game they have played this year. Like I said before, Parker is a Suns killer...I'm sure Nash will have a great day as well, but @ +120, I have to go with Parker. Barbosa scored 18 & 3 assists last game- he was 7-17 from the field, 1-2 from 3 pt land & 3-4 from the line....IMO he takes just as many shots tonight, but with better results. This is the guy that must perform in order for the Suns to win, I'm thinking he scores 22+ pts, so any assists would be extra padding. Like the under for game, but settled on the Nets u89....Lean to the Spurs u100/Suns o205, but not sure if I'm adding.

Also considering hedging the Suns ML parlay- I really like it, but I could play 4 units on the Spurs ML (+205) & it would be a no-risk situation (win 4 units or lose nothing). Another option would be to play the Spurs+5 & hope to middle....Still have some time to mull it over. GL all :jiggy:
