    JML Monday >>>

    MLB YTD: 249-221, +35.20 Units

Took yesterday off. I am still hung over from Saturday's Stag&Doe party.

Giants +100 (Cain) vs Pirates - 2 Units
Cain's been great, so I'll back him as a dog against the equally bad Pirates, and hope that the Giants can at least get him 2 or 3 runs. If he loses, I'll probably come right back with SF in game 2, because even with SF being a horrible team, the Pirates are not good either, and I don't see them pulling the DH sweep against two pretty good pitchers, and also winning 5 in a row.

Blue Jays -121 (Litsch) vs Royals - 3 Units
Litsch one of the three rookies that have really stepped up for Toronto....loving the Jays future with him, McGowan & Marcum. Seems like nice value here...especially with the Jays bats likely to tee-off on my old pal Odalis.

Astros +104 (Oswalt) vs Dodgers - 2 Units
Don't understand this one....I'm all over Oswalt as a dog against one of the coldest teams in baseball, LAD. Oswalt has been unreal the past couple weeks, and although much has been made of his road performances this year, he has only given up 2 ERs total, in his last 2 road starts.

    GL!

I dunno JML, Cain hasn't been all that hot on the road- In his last 3 road starts he's allowed 12 er in 17 ip. Also the Giants only hit .244 vs LHP & have won 2 of their last 10 games. I do think if the Giants win, it'll likely be game 1 with Cain on the mound...

I do like Oswalt as well today. The Dodgers are horrible right now, & although Billingsley may have solid home numbers on paper, there's no doubt Oswalt is the better pitcher. In his last 4 starts, he's given up 2 er in his last 25 ip! Hard to argue those stats...

GL today JML, sounds like you had a great time Saturday- I have my stag coming up in the middle of October, can't wait :beer2:

Yeah...I did check out Cain's road stats...I guess it's how you look at it, lol....you have his last 3...but I looked at his overall road vs home ERA for the year (alot better on the road all year 3.41/4.10), so it's not like he's a bad road starter....and he is coming off a great game in his last road start with 7+ IP, 11 SO, 1 walk, only 2 ERs. Although it was against SD! lol. Your stat is really only reflective of one horrible outing in Chicago where they hammered him for 6 runs over 4. And...yeah, I always look at team BA against a lefty when capping...and the Giants is only .247...but it's only .255 against righties....they suck against both! lol. I usually just use the righty/lefty thing when there is a big dicrepency between the two.

But, the bet is mainly counting on SF winning 1 of 2 with two pretty good pitchers on the hill....if Cain pulls it out, so be it....if not, I'll be on Lowry. We'll see.

      Gl today !!

Good points JML- I look at the road starts as a whole as well, but I always look at the last couple starts to see if anything pops out at me. The stat also reflects going 5.2 & allowing 4 er @ Cincy. I agree that overall, Cain is a pretty solid sp, but I just can't back the Giants as a team- it's a disgrace that Cain is 4-12 because he can't get any run support.... I'll likely stay away from this one alltogether, hope you win game 1, as I wouldn't want to chase a road win with the Giants. The Pirates have hit lefties better than righties .271------>.252, so I may jump on them for game 2. Again I say GL :beerbang:

heres something i found...not sure if it helps anybody.

San Francisco G1: Matt Cain 4.0 runs of run support
Pittsburgh G1: Paul Maholm 6.0 runs of run support

          last 3 games played.

Yeah...Cain has been getting no support all year, which is the reason for his 4-12 record, even with a pretty decent 3.77 ERA. Hopefully that changes today...

Love the Jays too Leaf.....and you're probably safe on Game 1 of SF vs. Pitts. as the Mitt is against ya and he's on a really hot 1-0 streak....LMAO :beerbang:

Giants finally looking good in Game 2 :beerbang: :beerbang:

Knew they'd get the split at least, too bad it wasn't game one....but I might be off 'em for good now. lol. Put 2 units on the Giants game 2 like I said I would, but my internet was down when I got home.

                      Let's go Astros
