    JML Monday >>>

    MLB YTD: 233-209, +22.40 Units

Took the weekend off...not around computers much in the summer weekends. Two for tonight...

Blue Jays -122 (McGowan) vs Drays - 5 Units
Don't understand this one...McGowan has nasty stuff, has been pitching great, and faces the worst team in baseball as a small road dog, even though he's not facing one of the Drays only decent starters, Shields or Kazmir. Jays bats are healthy, and the Rays best hitter and sparkplug, Carl Craword is out with a wrist injury. Drays also have a horrible bullpen...so if Sonnanstine gives up his usual 4/5 runs (Jays got 6 off him his only start against them), and the Jays get a couple more off the horrible pen, I can't see them losing this one with McGowan starting. Someone explain why this isn't -150. The rookie McGowan getting no respect yet? Much like Linecum, this guy is a future ace IMO. Maybe I'm looking through Blue-coloured glasses, but I'll hammer this one for 5 units, biggest play of the year for me I believe.

Phillies +102 (Hamels) vs Cubs - 2 Units
    Prefer Hamels over Lilly.

Well, that was the most frustrating loss of the season. Things almost went as planned. lol. Jays get the 4 off the Rays starter (although it should have been about 8 with all the baserunners). McGowan pitches great, and the Jays go into the 8th with a 4-2 lead. Rays brutal bullpen holds, and the Jays good bullpen gives up 1 in the 8th, and a blown save in the 9th. Then in the 10th, the Jays get a leadoff double, and the 3/4/5 hitters can't cash. In the 11th, the Jays get the bases loaded with 1 out, and can't cash. Brutal. Then Crawford, who was forced to bat with a hurt wrist (because he pinch-ran in the 10th, and the Rays were out of bench players), sucks it up and hits a walk-off. Worst loss by the Jays this year. lol

At least the Phils won to make it not as bad...
