    ***UDoggie's Friday Bases***

    3-3 +4.5 units yesterday, today I'm on...

    Motor City Kitties+138

    Oreos+166

    Holy Fathers+122

    F's+135

    Phanatics-101

    2 units each

Gonna bite on the gambler as a dog over Smoltz. Detroit is 5-1 last 6 on the road, while the Braves were shutout in b2b games. Ordonez & Guillen are both hot. Braves aren't & are faves....

Zona hits .232 vs lefties, & Burress has pitched well lately. Balty has a bad road record & Zona is 22-15 at home, but IMO this number is not justified....originally leaned Webb, but after some research I have to side with the dog.

Young is a dog at home? Dice-K overrated, & IMO the Padres are the play (as long as they can generate some offense....). Young has allowed over 2 runs only 2x in his last 10 starts.

The Mets are slumping (2-8 last 10), Glavine is 0-4 last 5 starts with a 7.31 era.... I'm high on DiNardo & think he bounces back off a bad start.

phillies play looks too easy but I'm biting anyway- Moyer pitched well last time out vs the Tigers, allowing 2er on 4 hits in 7 ip. The Cards hit .257 vs. lefties, & Reyes hasn't made it out of the 5th inning in the last 4 starts... only 1 of his last 4x out did he allow under 5 runs & that was against the padres....

Mr Jiggs, do your thing............................ :jiggy:

Is Maddux not pitching for San Diego tonight? Not that backing Maddux in this spot is a bad idea anyway IMO, since Boston seems to feed off walks, something Maddux doesn't give up much, and the long ball, which are alot harder to come by at Petco than Fenway.

I would be concerned about playing the Tigers though, just because who knows what you're gonna get out of Rogers. While I agree that if he was healthy and could go 7 innings or so, Detroit is a steal at the current price....on the other hand he could be on a pitch count and throw 4 or 5 innings of so-so ball, and then that worthless Detroit bullpen could very easily rear its ugly head for 4 or 5 (or more) innings. Too big of a ? there for me I believe, unless I would see some kind of evidence of Rogers being healthy...which I doubt is coming until after he takes the mound tonight. I guess my point is that I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything on Rogers, and if so, what is it?

And U-doggie....what do you think of all this talk of Garnett to Phoenix crap they're talking about now? I personally think it would be a stupid move on the part of the Suns if they had to give up even Marion and like Diaw or someone like that, let alone if they lose Stoudemire, even straight up Amare for Garnett. I mean really, if they give up 25 year old Amare for 30 something Garnett.....worst move ever, end of story IMO. And even if they have to give up only a few "lesser" guys to get him, I don't see where the hell he fits in with that team anyway. I don't know why the Suns would even want to mess with what they've got. I mean they probably win the championship this year had the Spurs not gotten hot at the right time and steamrolled everyone at the end of the season and in the playoffs....so why mess with it?

Now a team that could USE Garnett IMO is the Dallas Mavericks considering the centers they currently sport, lol....and I think the Cavs are another team who is close, but needs that extra piece or two, and he would fit in there as well....since his presence alone would take some of the pressure off Lebron....although I guess he said he'd only accept a trade to Phoenix, for whatever reason. I mean really, I guess it's better to stay with the crappy T'wolves and not even make the playoffs, than get on a team like Dallas or Cleveland who actually has a shot to win something. Idiot.

Yup...it's Maddux.....pads would be a pick'em or small fav with Young pitching.

I really had to hold myself back from jumping on that unbelievable Tigers offence as a dog, but like stif said...the uncertainty of Rogers, and the possibility of Fernando Rodney, Todd Jones and the rest of those stiffs coming in early, as well as the quality of the opposing starter made me lay off....tempting though....maybe a 5 inning play would be better?

just my two cents (even if no one asked for it LOL), Garnett needs to go to LA, if Kobe truly wants to win, he is an enigma, first he wants to be top dog, next he wants help...which is it Kobe, me guesses its talented players to help him who dont want the spotlight, well good Luck finding that! but the closest you'll find is Garnett, he is unselfish, does the dirty work, and his intensity is needed in LA IMO. Plus when you run the triangle, you really dont need a true PG, as the people like Kobe and Garnett (even Odom if they use him right), need the balls in their hands.

But if it were that easy, we would already hear it on the news eh?

as for the Suns, I am so glad Stif that you simply said what was true, the Spurs got hot at the right time (even I'll admit they got lucky obviously due to "ahem" certain things going their way), but point is you didnt make any excuses, and thats what I want to touch on, this Suns team is extremely talented, and you're right they dont need to tweak anything...except the Coach..

yes D'Antoni is a good coach, he's installed a very good O, but Nash is the one running the show, even the guy himself admits he doesnt call out any plays, he basically designed it and let it go... the problem I have with D'Antoni is how he just comes out and cries all the damn time, and doesnt instead channel that energy and hatred into inspiring the Suns to dig in and fcking blow their opponents off the floor, they are very capable of it. All that press is unnecessary, yes people will listen, but they are on the outside, you need to convince those in the locker room you've been wronged, and those punkass Spurs need to be blown off the court. LOL

will be a very interesting and exciting off season though!

plus Nash's back is getting so bad, that you may have 2 years max left of him performing at this level, whatever you want to do if you're the Suns better do it now, the windows closing fast much like it collapsed for the Kings in so short a time, maybe get bench help, and put in more of a defensive effort (they did much better this year, but there is much left to be want)...

I messed up... for some reason I saw Young listed last night & capped it that way. Definitely liked it more with Young on the mound, but I'm still down with fading Dice-k...... Drunk capping strikes again :drunk:

I knew it was a gamble to play on the Tigers, but IMO it was more of a gamble to play on the Braves as a fave right now.

I really don't think the Suns trade goes down, nor do I think it would be a good move for the Suns. Letting Amare go would be the dumbest thing they could do, he's that teams future IMO. I really don't think it would be wise for the Suns to bank on Garnett to get them over the hump- I just don't see him fitting in there right, & IMO with the same team next year who's to say they don't get it done? Seems as though Marion has been rumoured to go everywhere, I think they need to keep him too. Who knows what the Lakers are going to do.... if they end up getting someone for kobe, they will likely have to move Odom. I though maybe they would have interest in Duhon, as I think anyone is better than Smush.... there should definitely be some interesting moves this offseason. I also think this is could be one of the better drafts to come around. We'll see

Thanks to all & hope you're doing well
