MLB YTD: 165-140, +30.88 Units
Not a good week so far....big card tonight...
Dbacks +167 (Webb) vs Yanks - 1 Unit
Can't believe we get the Cy Young winner as a huge dog, starting for a good team. Webb has been lights out his past 2 starts. Crazy Yankee line.
Dbacks/Yanks Under 9 -120 (Webb/Wang) - 1.5 Units
Two great pitchers coming off their best couple starts of the year...
Rangers/Pirates OVER 9 -116 (Millwood/Duke) - 1 Unit
Millwood has been terrible all year, but especially lately...Duke will give up runs, and Texas kills lefties...9 seems low.
Nationals +160 (Bowie) vs Orioles - 1/2 Unit
Don't see why a below average team, and average starter should be laying this kind of number...Washington's been playing the better ball the past couple weeks.
Angels -136 (Escobar) vs Reds - 2.5 Units
Didn't think this would be a play at first glance, as I figured it would be -165 or so...Escobar having an all-star type year...Arroyo is ****....Angels a top 2 team in the tougher AL, Reds the worst team in the weaker NL...Escobar shut down the Yanks in the Bronx in his last road start, the Reds should be easier...not sure why we get such a low line...LA also had a day off to travel East.
Drays -114 (Kazmir) vs Padres - 1.5 Units
Don't look now, but Tampa playing good baseball winning 6 of 8....they don't have the depth in the rotation, or a good bullpen, but their young bats have been great lately, and Kazmir is pitching well. San Diego takes all those close games playing in the pitcher-laden NL West, but got swept against Seattle, and face another good AL lineup tonight.
A's +150 (Kennedy) vs Astros - 1/2 Unit
Kennedy has pitched pretty well all year, and kept good lineups like Boston and Minny in check his past two starts....it gets easier with one of the NL's worst hitting clubs. Oakland is playing great ball lately...so I guess the reason we get this huge dog line is because of Oswalt? But he hasn't exactly been great lately giving up runs and lots of hits to weak NL teams.
Mets -114 (Maine) vs Dodgers - 2 Units
Maine having a great year, and I'll back him and the good Mets lineup as a near pick'em coming off a tough loss in LA last night. Mets tough on lefties.
Blue Jays -116 (Burnett) vs Giants - 2 Units
Gotta back the hard-luck Burnett again on a low number. He's been dominant lately...the guy is good for 10+ strikeouts every game, but hasn't been getting the run support...hopefully he gets it tonight, as the Jays face a lefty, who we know they generally hit well for average, and the Jays are also 7-1 in their last 8 games against lefty starters, so we know they pull them out.
Thats it...big day...GL everyone...
