Loving the interleague card...which really surprised me...
Rockies -101 (Francis) vs Orioles - 2 Units
Don't understand this one...Francis has been one of mlb's best pitchers over the last month going deep into games, and not giving up more that 2 runs in any start. Colorado playing decent ball, and Baltimore has been on a slide. Traschel is a so-what serviceable veteran, coming off his worst start of the year...I woulda played the Rockies at -130 here...wrong team favoured IMO.
Mets +110 (Sosa) vs Tigers - 2 Units
Mets coming off a tough series against Philly, need a win bad...and to get that lineup, with a very good Sosa starting, in a desperate situation...seems like some nice value. Tigers rocked Texas...big deal, the Rangers blow bad...
Phillies -152 (Garcia) vs Royals - 2.5 Units
Interleague play you say? OK....for the NL we get the hot Phils, who are making a run in the tough East, coming off a sweep of the NL's top team. The AL gives us the Kansas City Royals. Nuff said. I don't care who's pitching... -150 seems good to me.
Angels -123 (Colon) vs Cards - 2 Units
STL playing a bit better lately, but they had nowhere to go but up. And, that is in the weakest division in baseball against average NL teams. Angels are a small fav? This ANA team is owning the stronger AL, and could very well be the best team in the AL....And Colon against the 10-loss Wells? I really thought this would be -150.
Brewers -131 (Capuano) vs Rangers - 2.5 Units
An NL division leader against the worst team in baseball, at only -130? Rangers have absolutely no pitching in a hitters ballpark. Tejeda is 1-5 with a 9.11 ERA over his past six starts. Opponents are hitting .308 off this tomato can. Capuano a tough lefty coming off two quality starts. Milwaukee's hitters must be licking their chops coming in to face this AL pitching.
Dbacks +138 (Davis) vs Red Sox - 1 Unit
This stinks like a public-team line. Zona one of the hottest teams in mlb. Boston..not so much! They were lucky to get the Schilling win to break the ugly losing streak. Boston's bats have gone completely cold. This one feels like Becketts first loss...Zona big dog at home, with a starter in Davis who's been throwing great...I'll take it.
Blue Jays +185 (Mcgowan) vs Dodgers - 1 Unit
Not my favourite play of the day so it's a 1 unit play, and slightly homerish, but I haven't seen these guys get this kind of line against any of the AL's great teams...even Boston during their run...so why against one of the NL's "good" teams. LA not exactly playing "-200" ball IMO, getting owned by their division rival in a sweep. McGowan's been good since joining the rotation. Don't like the East/West travel situation, but the Jays had a 12:00PM EST game yesterday...and this one is a 1:40 AM EST tonight, so they would have slept in big time, and should be fine.
