The Bees is rather obscure- After nearly going bankrupt & following a series of poor seasons, The Braves new owner Bob Quinn asked a team of sportswriters to choose a new nickname, hoping to change the teams luck. They chose the Bees & from 1936-1941 that was their nickname- it never really caught on, but during this time their home jerseys sported a large block letter B on the front... other nicknames previous included the Rustlers & Doves.Champagne for my real friends, real pain for my sham friends...Comment
