    MLB Sunday 6/3

    ytd 220-222 (+12.53 units)

    Toronto Blue Jays -128

Jays hammer lefties. The White Sox just plain stink this year. Their hitting has been piss poor and their pitching has been equally bad....especially their bullpen, and despite the lines starting to finally catch up to this year's team instead of being set on the teams of the last 2 years, they're still big time overvalued here.

Marcum is having a good season, and has been even better at home, so we have a team that hammers LHP, against an LHP starter, followed by a really bad bullpen, against one that cannot hit much of anything that is facing a pitcher with an ERA of under 3 at home.

Not much to analyze any further than that here.

    LA Angels -149

Much the same reasoning as yesterday. This line has been skyrocketing all morning, yet there is only a slight majority on the Angels. The price is a bit steep for my liking, but I'll take the better team with a pitcher who has been great at home for years, and a solid bullpen behind him, going up against a sub .500 team who has come back down to earth the last 2 games....well if sweeping KC and winning the first 1 against the Angels is even really all that much to be proud of in the first place.

        Philadelphia Phillies -125

On the surface, SF looks like the sexy pick as a dog here with Lincecum on the hill, but the Phillies hit him hard once, so what's to say they can't or won't do it again? The Phillies confuse me, but I'm playing on the oddsmakers opinion here, who favored the Phils and haven't wavered, despite a very strong public opinion on SF.

        Washington Nationals +120

Another situation where I'm backing the oddsmakers opinion that Washington has a strong chance today. The line has opened with SD as a slight fave, and despite the whole world being on the Padres, the line hasn't moved up a cent, and has actually moved down a few cents at sharper books like 5 Dimes and Pinnacle. Looks like they're inviting Padres action to me.

        Cleveland Indians +120

Despite this looking like Detroit should be the play on paper, and that Sowers has been downright disgusting this season, getting +120 for the better team who is off a loss, and is 19-5 at home is something i'll take a chance on just about every time. It's not like Detroit's pitching has been anything to speak of, especially their putrid bullpen, and the Tribe can hit. +120 is good value with the better overall team in a toss up situation IMO.

        Pittsburgh Pirates +130

Another situation where the public is pounding the bejesus out of the Dodgers, but the line has not wavered. Tough to go against Penny, but Gorzelanny is no slouch himself. Pittsburgh is actually in 2nd place in the NL central, LOL....not that it has anything to do with this game, but I find it amusing that they are ahead of the Cards, Houston, Flubs, and Reds. Another potential toss up, in which either or both pitchers could dominate, and where I see nice value on getting the home team at +130.

3-3 and exactly even on the day so far, which i feel pretty good about since my 3 wins all came by 1 run, and I only took 1 run loss. The day could have been a complete disaster had TOR, PHI, and ANA not come back late.
